गुरु is Sanskrit for "Guru", and it does NOT mean "teacher" or "mentor". Gu (गु) means "ignorance" Ru (रु) means "light" or "remover" ❗Together, गुरु means "remover of ignorance". (not "adder of knowledge") I often find myself describing to my clients how people live their lives with 🦶🏻1 foot on the accelerator pedal, and 🦶🏻1 foot simultaneously on the brake pedal. So much fuel is consumed, yet the car doesn't move as quickly as desired. 🐌 An entire organisation can even be plagued with the same effect. As leaders and change management agents, we need to broaden our mindset and develop capabilities to help remove ignorance - not by giving people additional advice, tips and suggestions. Instead, we need to figure out what wasteful and destructive thinking is like, and help people nip it in the bud. ❌Stop burdening people with OUR ideas as if they are not smart enough to figure it out. 🤕 ❌Stop ruining our next generation of thinkers. 😵💫 These are the valuable human resources you have invested in to grow your organisational capabilities. ✅Start developing and using your intuition to truly understand your fellow human. this will allow you to have powerful & enlightening conversations with the people around you. If this post resonates with you, and you want to help your internal and external customers realise why they choose to step on the brake pedal, ⚡ comment "SHARE" below and I'll love to arrange a powerful catch up call with you.

Building "trust" into the product features? Is it a good-to-have, or a necessity? This is probably the most talked about issue regarding Singapore's transport system in the last few weeks. An example where change management did not go according to plan, and huge push-back was experienced - without visibility of the cost incurred for the ride, would you still opt to use it despite the value of convenience it provides? I have been a user of the newer SimplyGo for a few years already. The convenience of not having to actively top up the card value makes my commute very carefree. Clearly, I trust the system... a lot, and maybe a bit too much? Tech really makes our lives easier. However, I do believe leaders need to understand we live in times where we trust LESS. The value of trust simply cannot be overlooked. Get an ISO. Build with empathy, transparency, and consistency. My takeaway: Change is important, and change management even more so.

  • Yes! The goal is to grow steadily and sustainably, yet... . . . a holistic view of the roadmap is often not readily visible. Organisations will likely continue to operate from their blind spots to achieve hits and misses in their effort to innovate and adapt. Risk management, Cost control, Employee retention, Business performance (not just cashflow performance)... What else do you think is at stake for your business? Connect with me today to discuss growth and innovation with your team! Drop me a message with "GROW" to start a conversation with me.
