Hivebotics was proud to present our Autonomous Commercial Toilet Cleaning Robot at the recent Sodexo Accelerator Pitch Day in Paris competing against 10 other inspiring startups in the category of #OperationalEfficiency. After being selected out of over 260 candidates, we were then invited to pitch our innovation live in front of 60+ Sodexo executives and global clients, alongside 10 other businesses. After a rigorous voting and deliberation process, I am pleased to share that we were successful to be selected as one of only four finalists! Japanese construction and real estate company Kajima is supporting startups in the built environment sector to accelerate the commercialisation of innovative solutions. As part of a new community access programme, startups can access workspaces at The GEAR in Changi Business Park, Kajima’s regional #headquarters and global #innovation hub in Singapore. They can gain exposure to Kajima’s networks (from partners and businesses, to institutes of higher learning and investors) to showcase their products and solutions, and to seek out collaboration opportunities. This programme complements Kajima’s 6-month residency programme for startups with venture development firm Rainmaking APAC – which has yielded use cases that are being explored further. They include: ⚪ HiveBotics, a spinoff from the National University of Singapore, which introduced an independent toilet-cleaning robot to address manpower shortages in the janitorial sector. ⚪ WeavAir, which tracks building health and occupant data to provide insights on energy use and recommend potential improvements. ⚪ UrbaX, which is turning low-value industrial waste into high-performance, eco-friendly cement that reduces CO2 emissions by 60%, as compared to traditional cement and speciality chemicals. Kajima also announced a new partnership with Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) to develop talent and advance research and commercialisation efforts in the built environment sector. The GEAR has been an excellent platform for Hivebotics. Last year, we joined the innaugral batch of the Kajima-Rainmaking accelerator program. After 6 months of close feedback, mentorship and opportunities to trial our robots, we are pleased to share our latest progress. Since the start of the program, Hivebotics has achieved the following: 1. Closed a Pre-Seed Round 2. Secured first Paying Customer 3. Expanded our team 4.
