Great leaders don’t just build businesses. They build ecosystems.
Because real impact doesn’t happen in silos. It happens when people come together to create something bigger than themselves.
Most leadership programs are designed for individual companies. The ASEAN Business Leadership Program (ABLP) challenges that norm.
The ABLP is a visionary initiative brought to life through the foresight of Hitachi Chairman Higashihara-san and Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, who are deeply committed to developing the next generation of ASEAN leaders.
This past week in Tokyo, 37 leaders from 7 countries and over 20 leading companies gathered for the Module 3 of the ABLP. We came in with different backgrounds but a shared mission: to explore how we can strengthen the ASEAN ecosystem through collaboration, innovation, and leadership.
Our Team Nexus took on the challenge of presenting a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) marketplace for renewable energy certificates (RECs) from solar panels, starting with a pilot in Indonesia.
We started with zero knowledge on this topic. As a team, we committed to delivering a credible and actionable proposal - which meant days and nights learning about RECs, Paas, marketplaces, seeking advice from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and GenAI, and iterating our financial model and deck through countless Friday evening calls.
All the effort paid off - we delivered a strong presentation, and the questions from our esteemed VIPs Higashihara-san, Ambassador Eng Chuan Ong, and Hiroshi Fujikawa-san pushed us to think deeper, refine our ideas, and sharpen our approach.
Ecosystems aren’t built on ideas alone. They’re built on People.
And the people in this program? Absolutely exceptional. 💙✨
A heartfelt thank you to Human Capital Leadership Institute (HCLI) Yina Kevyn and Hitachi Academy Mari, @Alex for curating such a meaningful experience. Your commitment to leadership development isn’t just shaping careers, it is shaping industries and economies.
Special appreciation to our CHRO Lorena and Hitachi Asia Ltd. Chairman Nakakita-san. Your leadership and dedication to talent development made this possible. These are not just investments in training, they are investments in a stronger, more connected ASEAN.
Wan Long Kong, thank you for hosting us at The Collective (https://lnkd.in/gSchVmDA). It was the perfect space for inspiration and collaboration. Highly recommend if you're looking for a world-class venue.
The Journey Doesn’t End Here.
The true return on learning is not in certificates or presentations. It is in the relationships we build, the ideas we share, and the ecosystems we strengthen together.
The future of ASEAN won’t be built by individual companies. It will be built by people, working together.
Here’s to collaboration, bold leadership, and the future we create together as a community.
