Meet Joni Havukainen, Customer Service Engineer, at Kramer Nordics 🎉 - Tell us a bit about yourself “I’ve been in the AV industry for my entire career, spanning 20 years. During this time, I worked as an AV retailer and as a roadie for events, and have been with Kramer for the last 13 years. I live in Finland, where I enjoy karting, computers, music, and some practical shooting in my free time.” - How did you end up in the audio-visual industry? “I studied electronics at a secondary school but had to leave due to unforeseen circumstances. Subsequently, I joined the Finnish army, where I served for six months as required, before starting my career in the AV industry.” - Describe your job in a sentence. “A technical wizard. My primary role involves resolving customer inquiries and issues. Whether they face a technical challenge, require guidance on utilizing a feature, or need assistance with designing a solution, I am responsible for addressing all their needs.” - What do you like the most about working at Kramer? "Freedom is the best part. I can perform my tasks as I see fit, as long as everyone is happy. I’ve been with Kramer for so long that it feels like a family. It still feels like a small company, where everyone works together, and you meet friends from all over the world. Everyone is so approachable, and sometimes you make friends for life." - What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now? "The coolest project I'm currently involved with is Kramer Control. I support our customers and help advance this fantastic product in both product development and sales aspects." - Who would you like to swap places with for one day? "I would like to swap places with a stage manager for a day. As a stage manager, you get to see everything that happens during the show, keep the schedule on track, and manage the performers' schedules. That could be a lot of fun." - What did you learn while working at Kramer? "At Kramer, I learn new things every day, covering both technical aspects and interpersonal skills. For instance, I've improved my networking abilities. We Finns typically prefer brief conversations, so mastering networking was an essential skill for me to develop." - Do you have a motivational quote that you live by, or think of often?
