Mapletree Community Month 2024 may be winding to a close, but the community spirit was still going strong as Mapletree staff and tenants came out in force to support last week’s two events. A mobile blood donation drive at Mapletree Business City, organised in partnership with Singapore Red Cross, saw over 120 individuals dropping by to make the life-saving donation. Due to their efforts, the donation drive resulted in over 76 units of blood being collected which can save about 230 lives. Thank you to all who donated and a special thanks to Medtronic's volunteers for helping to manage the donation process! On Friday, the crowd turned up once again to support the 14 competing teams at the Mapletree Futsal Challenge Qualifiers. The atmosphere was just electric, and a competitive, but fun time was had by all. The day ended with eight teams qualifying for the knockout stage and finals; congratulations to Google, beIN Asia Pacific, Nike, Cohu, Inc. and Mapletree’s own four teams. We look forward to an awesome showdown this Friday, do come down to support the teams if you are in the area! This week, we will have an urban sketching workshop and community sketch walk with Urban Sketchers Singapore, as well as the Mapletree Futsal Challenge Finals. We are pleased to mark our investment commitment in Tamil Nadu, India at a recent event, 𝘛𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭 𝘕𝘢𝘥𝘶 𝘐𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘷𝘦 2024, organised by the Government of Tamil Nadu which was held in Chennai.   Honoured to have Thiru. M.K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, in the presence of Dr. T R B Rajaa, Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce, Government of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Arun Roy (IAS), Industries Secretary and Mr. Vishnu Venugopalan (IAS), Guidance MD laid the foundation stone for our first project in Tamil Nadu in Gummidipoondi, Thiruvallur district in North Chennai. Singapore’s Consul General in Chennai, Mr Pang Tze Chiang, Edgar was also present with us on the dias.    As part of Mapletree's plan to scale-up investments in India, we proposed to set up multiple industrial cum logistics parks over the next five years across multiple locations in Tamil Nadu such as Gummidipoondi (Thiruvallur district), Sriperumbudur (Kanchipuram district) and Hosur (Krishnagiri district). The proposed investment is approximately INR 2,000 crores and will generate significant employment for over ~5,000 people.   The first development project to be launched in North Chennai will be a 1.1 million sqft industrial cum warehousing park across 47 acres and will play a significant role in further boosting the industrial ecosystem in the northern part of the city. #Mapletree #MapletreeLogistics #TamilNaduInvestmentConclave2024 #NorthChennai #industrial #logisticspark

Our colleagues in Poland recently had a team bonding session over a polymer plaster workshop! The team was introduced to polymer plaster as well as a demonstration of coaster creation and decoration techniques. Armed with an array of tools and materials, they unleashed their creativity and created their own beautiful and unique masterpieces. We are pleased to host a 27-person delegation from the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) (苏州工业园区), organised by Civil Service College recently. The event was part of the study visit by SIP officials, facilitated by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) - Software Project Office (SPO). The MTI-SPO training programme is part of Singapore’s continuing efforts to facilitate software transfer for officials from the SIP. The theme of this group’s programme is 𝘍𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.   Our Group Chief Corporate Officer, Mr Kwong Weng WAN, shared about Mapletree's beginnings and journey — from a local Singapore company to a global establishment, as well as the Group's growth and performance in China. He also shared about Mapletree's Corporate Governance and ESG. Thereafter, the delegation, Mr Wan and Mr Koh Wee Leong, Head, Investment and Asset Management of MPACT, engaged in a fruitful Q&A session. What a busy third week we had! Three Community Month activities back-to-back; focused on themes of environment, sustainability and inclusion. While Mapletree is taking bold steps in our commitment to integrate sustainability in our business value chain and operations, we are also empowering our employees and tenants to practice sustainability in their everyday lives. An upcycling workshop with The Sustainability Project imparted useful knowledge and skills on turning orange peels and coffee grounds into body scrubs, while a guided butterfly trail walk with Nature Society Singapore raised awareness about local butterfly conservation and showcased the amazing biodiversity in the Alexandra precinct. Mapletree staff and tenants also had the opportunity to learn about the deaf community and culture as well as some basic #SingaporeSignLanguage from amazing trainer, Moses Chan from The Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf). Things will be heating up next week as 14 futsal teams go toe to toe in our Mapletree Futsal Challenge qualifiers, as well as over 100 staff and tenants save lives through blood donation. Our CSR pillars of the Arts and Healthcare took 'main stage' for the second week of Mapletree Community Month 2024. For Healthcare, we partnered with SingHealth Community Hospitals (SCH) to host a lunchtime talk at Mapletree Business City (MBC), focused on travel health and medicine. The experienced SCH speakers: Dr Luke Low, Dr Ann Mei and Pharmacist Adeline also shared insightful tips on foods and activities to avoid and the recommended vaccinations and medications for popular travel destinations. For the Arts, Mapletree Arts in the City returned with a special edition for the seniors from Care Corner SG (Toa Payoh)! Almost 40 seniors were hosted by Mapletree staff and tenant volunteers at MBC for lunch, games and captivating performances by local performers: Roseville, yIN Harmony, and Flame Of The Forest. Our Head of Group Sustainability, Dr Chin Hong PANG recently participated in a keynote panel session at 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 2.0 - 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 which was organised by Nanyang Polytechnic. The keynote delved into the crucial role ESG principles played in shaping businesses, and Dr Pang shared insights on the sustainability trends and opportunities. He was joined by esteemed speakers Eugenia Koh, Global Head, Sustainability Finance at Standard Chartered, Lionel Wong, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Gprnt.AI, and Shirley Tee, Assistant Director of School of Business Management at Nanyang Polytechnic.
