  • As part of our regular leadership visits to Social Service Agencies (SSAs), our NCSS Board members and Senior Management team visited the Single Room Shared Facilities (SRSF) in Ang Mo Kio, operated by New Hope Community Services (NHCS), earlier this morning.   Launched in 2024, the SRSF project provides 🏢 rental flats for lower-income individuals without family support or housing options, leveraging community resources to meet residents’ needs. We’re proud to highlight collaborations with the Singapore Computer Society for 💻 digital literacy training and the Ang Mo Kio NPC Community Policing Unit 🚓 to promote crime prevention awareness.   During the visit, NCSS President Ms Anita Fam recognised NHCS for its commitment to empowering individuals and building strategic partnerships aligned with the Social Service Sector Strategic Thrusts Roadmap (4ST). She presented the 4ST Champion certificate to Elder Kevin Lee, President of NHCS.   We were also honoured to witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between NHCS and New Creation Community Services (NCCS) for their collaboration on the Men’s Alcoholic Rehabilitation Centre (MARC). This centre will serve as both a residential space and a drop-in centre for men in need. Congratulations to NHCS and NCCS on this important milestone, showcasing the value of 🤝 partnerships that extend beyond the social service sector!   #NCSS #4ST #SocialServiceSG #CommunitySupport #Empowerment

  • Thank you, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, for having NCSS in Week 2 of 5 of the Senior Fellowship in Public Service Programme 2024!   The day started with an introduction to NCSS and our work, which was presented by our CEO, Ms Li-San Tan. She highlighted NCSS's role as a sector developer in the social service ecosystem, as well as our efforts to build stronger social service agencies (SSAs) and communities over the years. 🚀 She was heartened by the enthusiasm and curiosity from the audience, who were keen to find out more about Singapore's plans to empower our seniors amidst an ageing population, the correlation between 💻 technology and mental health, and how NCSS and the sector continue to uplift and motivate sector professionals.   This was followed by a panel discussion with Mr Lee Seng Meng of SHINE Children and Youth Services and Mr Chia Ngiang Hong from City Developments Limited, moderated by Mr Jack Lim, Managing Director of Community Chest Singapore. The panel discussed how government, corporations and SSAs transformed the social service sector to remain resilient and future-ready within their industries and as a community 🤝.   During their closing remarks, the panel shared some of their wishes for the sector 💭: an adaptable sector that continues to meet needs, embraces change, and is client-centred!   #NCSS #SocialService #SocialImpact #MentalHealthAwareness #FutureReady
