NTT DATA India is doubling down on its commitment to technological growth with a massive $500 million investment over the next 12-18 months. CEO Avinash Joshi announced that the funds will accelerate AI platform development, expand data center bandwidth, and cater to the financial sector’s growing demand for sovereign cloud solutions. With India’s strategic importance in NTT’s global operations, the move is set to reshape the country's digital infrastructure. A significant portion of the investment will be directed towards establishing new data center campuses in Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Navi Mumbai, increasing the installed capacity by an additional 210 MW in the coming years. NTT's Malaysia-India-Singapore Transit (MIST) submarine cable system, capable of handling 200 terabits per second, will also see further expansion, enhancing seamless connectivity across Asia. Meanwhile, the Bengaluru innovation center will focus on AI, digital twin, and quantum computing projects, driving cutting-edge advancements. CEO Akira Shimada emphasized India’s critical role in NTT’s global strategy, highlighting that it currently ranks among the company’s top 10 revenue-generating markets. With bold plans for growth, including the adoption of the next-generation All-Photonics Network (APN) for faster and cost-effective data transmission, NTT is positioning itself as a leader in AI-driven enterprise solutions. India’s tech landscape is set to witness transformative change as NTT continues its journey toward innovation and expansion.
