Last week marked the end of our recruitment activities and we are absolutely delighted to have our new team onboard. We held our Bootcamp on the 21st of August with guest speaker Royston Chan with a total of 110 students in attendance. Followed by our LinkedIn masterclass jointly organised with NUS Entrepreneurship Society with speakers Channon Loh , Ryan Siah, Jing An Tai, Vanessa Ho and Ling Ling W. as part of our recruitment efforts to showcase was we have to offer! The Asia Startup Network is delighted to announce that Angels Arena is back this year and NAV is proud to be an event partner! This Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting the Legal Literacy Toolkit: Essentials for Startup Success in collaboration with ClavystBio. The session was not only engaging but also highly informative, offering participants a comprehensive overview of the corporate law landscape crucial for startup founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, and students/alumni exploring the startup ecosystem. It served as a guided learning opportunity, equipping attendees with essential legal knowledge to navigate the complexities of startup success. 🚀 We are pleased to share that one of our portco, tech-for-kids startup myFirst, has successfully raised undisclosed funding from Oneness Holding Private Limited after participating in our Feb demoday held jointly with BANSEA. NAV is proud to have been an important contributor to their Pre-Series A fundraising round. 🔥 Another great news: myFirst was also nominated as a semi-finalist for the ATEC2024 Competition held by the Asia Technology Entrepreneurship Conference (ATEC). We wish the team all the best in the later competition rounds! Over the last few startups NUS Alumni Ventures helped to raise funds for, we tapped on funding from both individual angels as well as venture capital funds, and occasionally both in the same round. Co-Founder Vanessa Ho shared on CNA's podcast and radio this morning on the funding landscape now, the difference between angel investor and VCs, and what founders can look out for in ensuring they raise from the right investors as well.
