Transforming NUS technologies and talents into investible, scalable deep tech start-ups
About us
NUS Graduate Research Innovation Programme (NUS GRIP) is a bespoke venture creation programme to enable PhDs and Research staff at NUS to start their own deep tech companies whilst completing their studies or working full time. Hosted by the NUS Industry Liaison Office, based on our extensive experience working with deep tech teams, we have designed a comprehensive suite of support, from experienced commercial champions, to prototyping partners, master engineers, market databases and up to $100,000 of funding to accelerate teams step by step to form their deep tech start ups with their own proprietary intellectual property within 12 months. Participants start with a rigorous 3 month Venture Creation Hothouse, and can pitch for funding from NUS for their start up thereafter. NUS GRIP can also bring solutions to companies' problem statements through our IDEAS Bank. We develop custom solutions by matching NUS talents with industry problems to meet their needs.

The NUS GRIP Run 12 teams assemble!! The NUS GRIP Run 12 program officially kicked off with a positive atmosphere 😊. As a Commercial Champion, I had the opportunity to meet the impressive cohort – 34 teams with a diverse range of intriguing projects. Last night, the focus shifted to team introductions 🤝 and overview of the program. I'm fortunate to be working with seven promising teams, each tackling distinct challenges. Areas like 3D bone scaffolding and wound healing sensors showcased the potential for groundbreaking innovation. Their commitment and enthusiasm are commendable. NUS GRIP provides a wealth of resources to support the teams, including experienced instructors and a network of commercial champions. Both of which are underpinned by the Venture Architects and the greater program team. Over the coming weeks, I'll be guiding my teams to leverage these resources effectively. The goal is to equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to translate their visions into reality. Anyone interested in a behind the scene look? Let me know in the comments
