The dimension of BEING in the Inner Development Goals is outlined as “Cultivating our inner life and developing and deepening our relationship to our thoughts, feelings and body help us be present, intentional and non-reactive when we face complexity.” In Be The Change we make a clear connection between ‘Being’ and service, encouraging young people to deepen their relationship to their inner world through Mindfulness. Especially in these stressful times, when students are facing climate anxiety, on top of overwhelm from academic pressures, you as a teacher can foster  ‘Being’ in the classroom with small choices and changes. The Inner Development Goals (IDG) is a non-profit, open-source initiative committed to fostering inner development towards more sustainable futures. They recognise that change toward the “outer” or Sustainable Development Goals is taking too long and going too slow. The Inner Development Goals Framework simplifies a complex field of human development to help us better identify, understand, communicate, develop, and integrate the inner skills needed for sustainable development. Wishing the Grade 11 CAS students from NPS International School- Singapore and their community partners in Cambodia and Laos all the best for their week of service action! To prepare for their Little Planet trip and align with best practice service, all 120 students took the Be The Change Course, as well as investigating and preparing for the action component of their CAS program.  This collaboration is called 'Involved'. Involved is a hybrid program that combines Be The Change content with hands-on action! Involved includes: ✅ 12 month access to Be The Change ✅ Engagement and support by Little Planet educators ✅ Pre and post trip learning, ensuring alignment with best practice in service. ✅ Cultivation of on-going reciprocal partnerships with Little Planet's long standing community partners. ✅ Collaborative hands-on action! The latest version of Be The Change includes greater flexibility for the young individuals that take the program! We now offer a brand new ‘Self Paced’ version and thoughtful adaptations throughout all versions of BTC to support diverse learning styles  BTC 3.0 update #3, Flexibility and Universal Design for Learning BTC Self Paced: Our partner schools use Be The Change in different ways;  • Teacher facilitated delivery in classroom settings, during curriculum time.  • Self-paced independent learning outside the classroom; term time or summer program. For the students that take Be The Change more independently, we now offer a version that has set release conditions for program content, allowing students to work their way through and unlock new lessons on successful completion of end-of-lesson quizzes and checklists. Universal Design for Learning: In order to cater for different learning styles and offer additional ways for students to engage with Be The Change, the new version of the program has audio bites in the lessons, so students can listen to the material as well as or instead of reading it. The Be The Change teaching videos are also subtitled. Originally launched in early 2020 and first enhanced in 2022, BTC’s third iteration, BTC v3.0 is now complete! In this current post series we’re exploring ways that Be The Change has evolved, and the new advantages for our students. Our students said they wanted to be able to connect more deeply with the presenters in the Be The Change teaching videos, so for BTC v3.0 we refilmed them, featuring two young changemakers! Manuel Bergman and Alicia Nur Anisa are inspiring examples of the power of youth focused on positive global change. BTC 3.0 update #2, New Teaching Videos ✅ Alicia and Manuel now deliver all the video teaching content in Be The Change, making connections with their own real life experiences and initiatives for change. ✅ The teaching videos now include additional video footage and images that help tell the story and increase learner engagement.  ✅ Each teaching video is now subtitled to ensure accessibility and cater for diverse learning styles.  ✅ Video content has been updated and refreshed.
