Each year, PGIM brings together leaders from across our business for a day of strategy discussions to exchange ideas and viewpoints, aimed at positioning the organization for future growth. At this year's Pinnacle event, I sat down for a fireside chat with Pulitzer Prize-winning presidential historian and biographer Jon Meacham, who spoke candidly to our leaders about this moment in history.   My first question to him was about the period of history that has the most interesting parallels to our current political climate and what can be learned from this. His response: The 1920s. He pointed out a decade defined by dramatic demographic shifts, disruptive technological advancements, and the rise of isolationist policies. Jon also highlighted that change in one direction often leads to powerful political counter reactions—in this case, a political response that led to the remaking of political parties and ultimately to the election of Franklin D. Roosevelt.    We covered a great deal more on leadership of various presidents, and the enduring power, but fragility, of American democracy. Thank you to Jon for an encyclopedic knowledge of history and wonderful narrative skills that underscore for us the most important points for our times.

Each International Women's Day (IWD), we honor the strength, resilience, and achievements of women around the world. I am celebrating the women who inspire me – from the past and present – and in my professional and personal life, which include: • Sancia Dalley, Natalie Gill, Susan Gardner, and Ann Lorbes, my incredible team members at PGIM – These women inspire me every day by helping to shape the inclusive culture we foster here at PGIM. • Patricia Westgate Sayko, my mother – My mom put my dad through law school while raising three young kids and went on to touch the lives of a generation of kids, teaching 1st grade for nearly 40 years. • Gwenllian, the warrior princess of Wales – As a genealogist, my mom traced our heritage back to Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd, so I heard a lot about her growing up and was inspired by her fierce leadership and bravery! • Franke Bell, my first swim coach – Franke coached the swim team at my local Y in North Carolina, and through her ability to develop talent, she eventually coached in the Olympics. She was the first woman inducted into the Swim Coaches Hall of Fame and was famous for saying, "Don't try to fit in when you were born to standout." From breaking barriers in leadership, to driving innovation, women everywhere are creating lasting impacts and paving the way for future generations. Let’s continue to challenge the status quo, uplift one another, and create inclusive environments where talent can flourish. Cheers to strong women – may we know them, may we be them, and may we raise them! #IWD2025 #AccelerateAction
