  • 𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗨𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮 🚚☕ It’s a new milestone for PIL Intermodal Services as the team began transporting coffee beans via truck from Nalukolongo, Uganda for the first time! 🇺🇬➡🇰🇪➡🇨🇳 On 7 March, our team received a shipment of 21 tonnes of coffee beans from our customer Bowi Logistics, a coffee trading solutions company in Uganda. The shipment is currently on its way to Mombasa, Kenya, where it will then be loaded onto our vessel Kota Selamat for its onward delivery to Shanghai, China. 🚚➡🚢 🤔📦 Located in the west of Uganda’s capital, Kampala, Nalukolongo is an area famous for coffee exports for the landlocked country. However, it has always been logistically challenging for businesses to export out of this inland location, and the traditional method of exporting via rail often involves extended waiting time. 🚆⏳ 🙋♂️💪 By constantly “Pushing Boundaries”, PIL has now made it easier for our customer to export directly from Nalukolongo through our intermodal services! With cross-border coordination from our team, augmented by the seamless integration of road transport from Uganda to Kenya, our customer gets to benefit from a shorter transit time for their coffee shipment! ⌚⏩ 🚀🔀 Complementing our container shipping services, PIL Intermodal Services is a sustainable end-to-end transportation solution that empowers our customers to save time and resources by helping them to deliver goods to and from inland, and even across borders. Committed to our Purpose of “Putting Customers First”, we have once again demonstrated how PIL can provide better solutions for our customers by “Pushing Boundaries”! 🔗👉 For more information about our intermodal services, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/gJYxPyig #PIL #PacificInternationalLines #PuttingCustomersFirst #PushingBoundaries #Logistics #Intermodal

To mark this significant milestone, the vessel was welcomed with a water salute by tugboats from PSA Marine! 🎉🎁 A celebration was held on board Kota Ebony, where the vessel’s godmother Mrs Giselle Kastrup, wife of PIL’s CEO Mr Lars Kastrup, presented tokens of appreciation to the Master of the vessel, Capt. Singh Jang Bahadur. Mrs Kastrup is the godmother of the vessel, having named it “Kota Ebony” just three weeks ago when PIL took delivery of the vessel from Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai. 🗣🙋♂️ On board Kota Ebony, Lars actively engaged the crew on their wellbeing. He also addressed the more than 40 colleagues who were given the opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art vessel to better understand how Kota Ebony’s advanced technology and green features will optimise operational efficiency, promote sustainability and enhance PIL's offerings. 🤝 Mr Philbert Chua, PSA Singapore’s Managing Director, Container Division, was also on board the vessel to commemorate the occasion, presenting a special plaque to Captain Singh and Mr Abhishek Chawla, PIL’s Chief Marine Officer. 🚢🌎 Kota Ebony is our third 14,000-TEU LNG dual-fuel container vessel that features an optimised hull form and a high reefer capacity which are ideal for the Latin American trade. It also has other features that help to reduce emissions, improve safety, and enhance operations efficiency. After Singapore, Kota Ebony will continue its journey to South America along the East Coast Service 1 (ES1) route, making stops in Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina, before returning to Asia. ⬇📸 Check out the photos below to relive the moments from Kota Ebony’s maiden call to Singapore! #PIL #PacificInternationalLines #KotaEbony

This is also our first vessel that features a bow windshield for improved aerodynamics to reduce fuel consumption! 🙋♀️💧 The vessel was named Kota Embun by Mrs. Evelyn Ng, wife of Mr. Ng Kee Choe, Deputy Chairman of PIL, in a ceremony held at the shipyard in Shanghai, China today. 𝘌𝘮𝘣𝘶𝘯 means ‘dew’ in Malay, and it symbolises renewal and harmony with nature, reflecting the vessel's role in promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly shipping practices. ♻ 🌱💚 Together with its sister ships (Kota Eagle, Kota Emerald, and Kota Ebony), Kota Embun is the largest vessel in PIL’s fleet. The fuel-saving bow windshield, a new feature in PIL’s fleet, will also help to reduce Kota Embun’s emissions as it plies the West Coast Central and South America Service 2 (WS2) route that it’s scheduled to operate on. 🗣💬 Mr Lars Kastrup, CEO of PIL, said, "The naming of Kota Embun, our fourth “E” Class vessel, is testament to the excellent progress we are making in our fleet renewal drive and journey towards greener shipping. We have another 14 new vessels of various capacities, equipped with LNG dual-fuel technology and other advancements. Each new vessel brings us closer to our goal of operating a more modern and environmentally friendly fleet. They enhance our ability to better meet global trade demands and support our customers with wider and more efficient services.” Read the full press release here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eSVUtVsc #PIL #PacificInternationalLines #KotaEmbun #Shipping #Sustainability #LNG

Your dedication has not gone unnoticed, and we would like to take this opportunity to say a big “THANK YOU” for all your efforts! 🙇♂️🙇♀️ 📈⚖ The theme for this year’s IWD campaign, “Accelerate Action”, calls for swift steps in achieving gender equality. At PIL, we value diversity in our workforce, and we have initiatives to ensure the well-being of all colleagues. We are glad that over half of our global shore colleagues are women! 💪💪 With our people being our invaluable asset, PIL fully supports the need to Accelerate Action! On 22 February, our colleagues organised the construction of three concrete water treatment tanks with a filtration system, as well as contributed three water storage tanks to store clean water for Pa Cheo Kindergarten in the Lao Cai province. 💧🧒 Located in one of the poorest regions in Vietnam, the school provides education for over 360 students aged between two to five. With this donation, the underprivileged children now have access to clean water, which will help to enhance their learning environment. In addition, our PIL Vietnam colleagues also forked out of their own pockets to purchase snacks and candies for the young children. It was indeed heartwarming to see the faces of the kids light up with smiles! 🍪🍭😄 🌐🔭 PIL strives to uplift communities wherever we operate and make the world a better place for future generations. It is hoped that our contribution to Pa Cheo Kindergarten will enable the children to better focus on their education without having to worry about clean water access. Putting on our Future-Focused lens, we take concrete action like this to make a positive difference to the lives of these underprivileged children! #PIL #PacificInternationalLines #FutureFocused #CSR #CorporateSocialResponsibility
