This International Women’s Day (IWD), we’re accelerating progress with our “Accelerate Action” campaign. This year’s initiative focuses on visible leadership support. It also highlights the tangible actions we can all take to create a more equitable and inclusive workplace. In a special message, Anthony O'Rourke, CEO, emphasized the importance of IWD as a reminder to foster inclusivity. “We need to continue to support our female colleagues in their career journeys. Our new strategy is committed to our Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) programme. Together we can build a PM Group where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute,” said Anthony.    Susanne Jeffery FCIPD, PM Group’s Chief People & Culture Officer added, “In my new role with PM Group, I will be working hard with all the teams across the group to attract, develop and retain the very best talent. We will ensure our processes for career development and advancement are best in class, but above all, fair and equitable. Embracing diversity and fostering a culture of inclusion not only makes us a great place to work but also gives us a competitive advantage in the marketplace.” More about Diversity and Inclusion at PM Group: https://lnkd.in/e4z-hKcB #IWD #AccelerateAction #PMGroup #DiversityandInclusion #ESG

Cost remains a key driver for UK chemical manufacturers. Many opt to retrofit and upgrade existing facilities rather than invest in Greenfield investments. However, navigating complex legislation and sustainability requirements makes these projects increasingly challenging.    "We see many facilities that weren't designed to handle modern production needs or sustainability goals. This limitation demands creative space management solutions. Our aim is to help improve operational efficiency while meeting today's requirements," said Mark Ballard, Director of Field Sales, PM Group.    Finding solutions that include process safety, environmental factors, and smart manufacturing is essential.    Read more on our website: https://lnkd.in/eEvJaZgJ   Mark will present the Manufacturing Company of the Year award at the Chemicals North West Awards in Manchester on 20th March 2025. We’re proud to sponsor this category and can’t wait to celebrate recent achievements in manufacturing close to our Manchester office.    #chemicalmanufacturing #processengineering #pmgroup #expertise

  • Robotics in the pharmaceutical industry offer the promise of making significant progress, catalysing innovation and efficiency. In aseptic filling processes, robotics are already enabling the production of safer, more cost-effective sterile products. "While robotics can reduce human intervention, they must be designed to operate in aseptic environments without introducing new contamination risks," said Alan Kelly, Subject Matter Expert (Aseptic Fill Finish), PM Group. Introducing robotics into pharmaceutical manufacturing environments presents several key challenges - including: ** Long lead times, installation, and qualification can delay projects. From development to market readiness, the process can be lengthy and delay critical launches. Additionally, scaling up production for new products adds to these delays.  ** The initial investment in robotic systems can be high. Calculating the return on investment (ROI) can be challenging. Companies must consider not only the cost of the robots themselves but also the cost of integration, training and maintenance.  ** Regulatory bodies like the FDA an EMA push for reduced human intervention to minimise contamination risks. Robotic systems must meet stringent regulatory standards in the highly regulated pharmaceutical industry. • **Robotics in Pharma: challenges for Annex 1** Robotics are transforming the pharmaceutical industry, especially in aseptic filling. These innovations promise enhanced safety and cost-effectiveness and help to resolve some of the significant challenges facing the industry. Among these are long lead times, high costs and stringent regulations. With robots reducing human intervention, contamination control is also crucial. However, they must adapt to varying production rates and integrate seamlessly with existing systems. **Interested to learn more?** Alan Kelly, SME Aseptic Fill Finish, PM Group will be speaking about his insights at GENAP 2025, the annual aseptic processing technology event, on 20-21st February in Munich.
