Here’s a special shout to our #inclusion partner Superhero Me Ltd for the team’s creative support on CURIO and a wonderful collaboration with Artability. 💜 As part of our two-year partnership, we have worked closely to strengthen our shared mission of promoting #disability advocacy and inclusion. Through CURIO, we curated an exhibition that celebrated the artistic talents of 25 youths and supported our student artists, Nurin Farisha and Aliyya Qisya to co-lead public inclusive workshops, inspiring others through their creativity! Thank you for walking this journey with us and for your continued support in championing this important cause. 🌟

October is Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness Month! #DidYouKnow AAC is commonly used by persons with disabilities who communicate in ways other than speech. It comprises a set of tools and strategies that people use to solve everyday communicative challenges.   At Rainbow Centre, over 50% of our students use #AAC systems to support their communication needs. AAC is a cornerstone of our teaching and learning approach, enabling our students with communication challenges to articulate their needs, share their thoughts, and connect with those around them. Whether it’s through gestures, communication boards, or high-tech communication applications with speech output, we #empower our students to have a voice and be heard by everyone around them.

We’re grateful to have STPI Creative Workshop & Gallery as one of our partners for 𝘾𝙐𝙍𝙄𝙊: 𝘼 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙒𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨! 🤗 In collaboration with the STPI team, our Artability trainers and over 20 students had a wonderful time co-creating the coaster set through linocut stamping and acrylic paint. These coasters, based on the charming artwork ‘𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙤’ by our talented Artability student Annice Yee, were presented as thoughtful door gifts to our guests. Our heartfelt thanks to STPI Creative Workshop & Gallery for bringing a new experience to us, enabling our students to express their creativity in new and exciting ways! 🌈

Rainbow Centre is proud to have marched in a sea of purple at the 12th edition of The Purple Parade ! A contingent of 200 strong—including our families, staff and their families — marched as one RC united in the mission of a better inclusive future for all. With a record 15,000 attendees this year, it was truly encouraging to see people from all walks of life come together as a powerful testament to the growing awareness and desire to create a more inclusive future for persons with disabilities. 💟 Beyond the parade, we encourage you to bring a friend to experience inclusion! We have a myriad of volunteer roles available which allow you to learn communication skills and how to include those with disabilities. Keen to contribute to shaping this vision? In a pivotal step toward empowering more persons with disabilities, we announced a significant milestone this Children’s Day. Rainbow Centre Admiral Hill School, a purpose-built school for 300 students with autism, will officially open tomorrow. It is a first-of-its-kind SPED school designed with autism-friendly features and a Social Town concept in mind to integrate the local community.  One highlight is the Good Life Boarding, an apartment-style training space where students are trained and provided with opportunities to practise essential independent living skills, preparing them for the “post-18 cliff effect”—the challenge of limited engagement opportunities and long waiting lists in formal services after graduation. https://lnkd.in/eu3qba-8
