About us

A joint venture between Rolls-Royce and SIA Engineering Company, Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL) stands as one of the world’s largest Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities for Rolls-Royce Trent engines. Currently, approximately 25% of the world’s Rolls-Royce Trent engines pass through SAESL, propelling aircraft such as the Airbus A330, A350, and A380, as well as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Since its establishment in 2001, SAESL has become an indispensable component of the Singapore aerospace ecosystem, catering to airline customers across six continents. In line with our commitment to innovation and meeting growing demand, we are thrilled to announce a major investment of US$180 million to expand our facilities and integrate advanced technologies. This strategic move will increase our capacity by 40% and position us to capture the burgeoning engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) demand in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. This investment underscores our dedication to providing top-tier services to our global clientele while contributing to the continued success of the aerospace industry. We are confident that these enhancements will further solidify SAESL's position as a leader in engine MRO services and drive even greater value for our customers and partners worldwide.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Trade & Industry and Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Republic of Singapore

Glad to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL)’s new facility for aero-engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO). This is part of a S$242 million expansion that will increase SAESL’s capacity for aero-engine overhaul, and allow SAESL to incorporate new automation and digitalisation initiatives that will enhance its productivity. Also glad to note that SAESL and Rolls-Royce will be furthering its partnership with A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research under Phase 2 of the Smart Manufacturing Joint Lab (SMJL), working together to develop new technologies to improve operational efficiency and output. This new partnership will also open up new opportunities for our local enterprises along the MRO value chain. I am confident that SAESL’s expansion in capacity, investments in capabilities and partnerships with the larger aerospace ecosystem will enable it to capture the rising demand for MRO in the years ahead and contribute to a stronger aerospace industry in Singapore.
