One of the important elements of Masters Application is your resume. While you get a great number of guidelines on how to create a strong resume, you need to be careful about what not to be included in a resume meant for higher education application. Here are the things you must avoid- ➡ Irrelevant Work Experience ➡ Exaggeration or False Information ➡ Overloading with Technical Jargon ➡ Neglecting Formatting and Proofreading ➡ Overemphasis on Soft Skills #msapplications #resumeforuniversity #careerguidance #studyabroad

University shortlisting is a critical step in the process of higher education application abroad. Be it ranking, location or curriculum everything plays an important role in making a comprehensive list. While students pick universities that match the best with their aspirations, we are going to share 5 Don'ts when universities are shortlisted. 1. Overlooking Accreditation and Recognition Avoid: Selecting a university solely based on its location or campus facilities without verifying its accreditation. Example: Researching universities that are not listed in reputable global rankings or lacking accreditation from recognized bodies can lead to issues with degree validity. 2. Ignoring the Cost of Living Avoid: Selecting a university in a city with high living costs without assessing if you can afford it. Example: A university might offer a scholarship, but if the city’s cost of living is exorbitant, it could strain your finances. 3. Neglecting Career Services and Job Opportunities Avoid: Choosing a university based on academic reputation alone, without researching its career support services or internship opportunities. Example: A university might have a prestigious program but limited connections with industry or inadequate career support, affecting your job search after graduation. 4. Disregarding Cultural Fit and Language Barriers Avoid: Enrolling in a university in a country where you’re not comfortable with the language or cultural norms. Example: Opting for a university in a country with a vastly different culture or language might lead to challenges in adjusting and fully benefiting from your education. 5. Ignoring Student Support Services Avoid: Choosing a university without researching the range and quality of support services available to students. Example: A university might have excellent academics but lack robust support systems for international students, affecting your ability to navigate challenges effectively. By avoiding these pitfalls, you can make a more informed decision and select a university that aligns with both your academic goals and personal needs. It was a wonderful session of knowledge sharing and interaction. Thanks to Graduate School Curation Program - Habib University for partnering with Scholist.
The Office of GSCP partnered with Scholist to organize a webinar on grad school admissions in the US. All students enrolled in the summer GRE program got the opportunity to learn more about their grad needs from experts! The students heard from the Founder and Head of Student Guidance of Scholist, the company focused on bringing transparency to the study abroad industry and higher-quality guidance at an affordable cost to students. Their mission is to bring transparency to the study abroad counselling and recruitment process since many students receive guidance from consultants or universities whose interests are not aligned with theirs, the staff was incentivized to ensure that they advise in the best interest of students. #HabibUniversity #ShapingFutures #GSCP #GRE #GraduateSchoolPrep |Sara Kazi| Sajjad Jaffery | Hazeera Muhammad Hashim | Hiba Ahmed
