About us

Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) forms a vital part of Singapore's master plan to provide quality and accessible care to better serve the healthcare needs in North-Eastern Singapore. Reflecting our mission of achieving better health together, SKH's team of doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals practise multi-disciplinary and team-based care. Patients are treated holistically and will benefit from having a primary doctor (specialist) oversee and coordinate their care throughout their hospitalisation stay and follow-up. SKH has also collaborated with National Heart Centre, National Cancer Centre, Singapore National Eye Centre, National Dental Centre Singapore, National Neuroscience Institute and KK Women's and Children's Hospital to offer specialty services within the hospital's Medical Centre. SKH is a member of the SingHealth cluster of healthcare institutions. Feeling deeply privileged to be part of the campus visuals this Allied Health Day. LinkedIn tells me it’s been 4 years and 4 months since I started working as an MSW, and I’m reminded of how grateful I am for every person I’ve had the honor to cross paths with. It’s truly a special privilege to hold space for my patients and their families during some of their most vulnerable moments. Here’s to being thankful for the opportunity to serve, to grow, and to share in these deeply human experiences. Happy AHP Day! 💙 Be sure to check out the stories of other AHPs here https://lnkd.in/gH8r5w93 P.S. Forever grateful to my work pals for bringing joy to the journey, day in and day out! 😊✨ SingHealth Sengkang General Hospital

I can't paint! I'm not artistic! How do I start on the canvas? These were all the self doubts expressed by participants in 'Color your World' event held on World Mental Health day at Singapore Institute of Management on 10 Oct. Colour your World is organized by Elpis to raise awareness on the need to break the stigma on mental health. A recent survey shows that 1 in 3 Singaporean youth suffers from poor mental health. Contributing factors include excessive use of social media, cyber bullying and concerns with body image. Color Your World was chosen as a theme as it's amazing how arts can help us to focus our minds, and bring a sense of joy and positivity to our lives. The participants were soon immersed in their art and as the minutes went by, the more they were able to freely express themselves. Definitely therapeutic! The completed canvases will be scanned by HP and presented as a montage to be placed at Sengkang General Hospital. Thank you to all the corporates and individual members of the public for supporting this meaningful event!

  • 🚨 Did you know that individuals with respiratory diseases like asthma, COPD, and lung cancer are at a significantly higher risk for shingles? 🤔 Chronic conditions can weaken the immune system, making it harder to fight off infections like shingles. In fact, asthma patients face a 24% increased risk, while COPD patients are nearly twice as likely! Those with lung cancer see their odds increase by 50%. And the complications? They can be serious, with higher chances of postherpetic neuralgia—a painful condition that can linger long after the shingles rash has healed. But there’s good news! 🌟 You can help protect yourself with the recombinant shingles vaccination. Join us for the Lung Shield Event on 12 October, from 10 AM to 4 PM at Sengkang Community Club! Don’t let shingles be a burden—come and empower yourself with knowledge and vaccination options! 💪 📲 Tap here to join our WhatsApp channel: https://for.sg/skhwhatsapp #LungHealth #ShinglesAwareness #LungShieldEvent #healthyliving Source: Lianhe Zaobao ©️ SPH Media Limited. • We had an amazing Saturday celebrating the International Day for Older Persons at Punggol One! It was a joy to connect with seniors through fun activities, health screenings, and informative health talks. We were honoured to have Prof Lee Chien Earn, Deputy Group CEO (Regional Health System), SingHealth, as our Guest of Honour. He graced the event and officially launched the INFINITY-ICOPE programme in the northeast of Singapore, a collaboration between SingHealth and SKH, aimed at supporting seniors' health through early screening and intervention. Getting older isn’t just about ageing—it’s about the experiences along the way. By promoting healthy ageing and respecting each senior's unique journey, we hope to help them live life to the fullest. Check out the event photos! 📲 Tap here to join our WhatsApp channel: https://for.sg/skhwhatsapp #SKH #SKHturns5 #IDOP #HealthyAgeing #SingHealth
