We're honoured to announce that Sentosa Development Corporation has been awarded the prestigious 'Total Defence Award' by Nexus, Ministry of Defence of Singapore. This recognition underscores our unwavering commitment to Singapore's Total Defence efforts, especially during Total Defence 2024. Together with our Island Partners, we were proud to participate in this year's Exercise SG Ready, Singapore’s first islandwide Total Defence exercise. Through a range of simulated disruptions across Sentosa, we demonstrated the robustness of the Sentosa Resilience Framework, and enhanced our capability to manage disruptions effectively. We are proud to have hosted ULI Singapore on a study tour on Sentosa island, as part of the 2024 ULI Singapore Annual Conference. ULI plays a vital role in connecting decision-makers across various real estate sectors, fostering relationships, sharing insights, and driving meaningful change in the built environment. During the study tour, participants gained insights on the Greater Sentosa Master Plan and toured the first major milestone - #SentosaSensoryscape, a 30,000 square meter oasis that beautifully blends nature, design, and technology to offer an immersive, multi-sensorial journey. In addition to exploring our latest attraction, participants visited RISE, a recently unveiled sustainability showcase designed to educate and engage visitors on island sustainability efforts and invites visitors to contribute to a Sustainable Sentosa by embracing environmentally-conscious behaviours as they discover the island’s offerings. It was our honour to welcome His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei Darussalam and his 10th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme delegation to Sentosa, hosted by Minister Grace Fu and SMS Desmond Tan. We had the opportunity to share more about Sentosa Development Corporation's sustainability journey and tourism initiatives, as well as the latest leisure offerings on the island. HRH visited the RISE Sustainability Exhibit, which showcased the collaboration amongst businesses in the Sentosa Carbon Neutral Network, and recycled art installation “Explorers of Sentosa”, as examples of sustainable experiences on the island. Together with our other initiatives such as decarbonisation and circular economy, these offerings demonstrate how we are transforming Sentosa to become a more sustainable destination. We were thrilled to introduce Sentosa Sensoryscape, a precinct connector which doubles as a day-to-night experience, showcasing how technology, inspiring architecture, and nature can be collectively weaved to engage the senses of all our guests, through multisensorial experiences. We also introduced The Palawan @ Sentosa, the latest lifestyle and entertainment precinct by the Shangri-La Group which redefines leisure and entertainment experiences, including Hyperdrive (Asia’ first indoor gamified electric go-kart). Through our sharing and discussions, we hope to have sparked further insights on greater collaborations between Singapore and Brunei, that will go towards preserving our environment for the next generation. It was also our privilege to welcome HRH and their Royal Highnesses in a return visit to the island as well. Last week, we celebrated #Sentosa’s 52nd birthday at our townhall! As part of our birthday celebrations, we gathered to share the latest exciting developments on the island and also celebrate the recent achievements of our #Sentosians. Our senior management Chew Tiong Heng, Chris Pok, and Yun Meng Chew shared about how we worked together as #OneSentosa to overcome the recent oil spill, while Candice Ho and Emily Ng introduced the island's latest initiative, Night Mode, that provides visitors with a night experience they won’t forget. Over the past 52 years, our #Sentosians continue to make us proud, in their endeavours to further anchor Sentosa’s stature as Asia’s leading leisure destination, and we were delighted to celebrate these achievements together. Most notably our Senior Advisor, Chin Sak Hin, received the Public Administration Medal (Silver), and Susan Tan received the Long Service Medal (25 Years) in this year’s National Day Awards. After months of concerted clean-up efforts and community support, guests can once again enjoy the complete range of beach and sea experiences across Sentosa’s pristine beaches including Siloso, Palawan, and Tanjong. Whether you’re looking for sun-soaked relaxation, thrilling water sports or unforgettable seaside moments, there is something for everyone! Today, we were thrilled to kickstart Sentosa Cares Week 2024, Sentosa Development Corporation's flagship event aimed at fostering social inclusivity and creating joyful experiences for all. This is the second year that brings together SDC and our Island Partners to provide over 1,300 beneficiaries, including ComLink families, persons with disabilities, and their caregivers, with the opportunity to enjoy the island's offerings and attractions. Over the next week, they will be treated to a range of experiences on Sentosa, including thrilling adventures at Mega Adventure Park and HyperDrive at The Palawan @ Sentosa, among many others.
