Homegrown Humanitarian Organisation. Serving Humanity & Saving Lives since 1949.

About us

The Singapore Red Cross is a homegrown humanitarian organisation dedicated to relieving human suffering, protecting lives and dignity and responding to emergencies. We serve the vulnerable through our blood donor programme, Home and Day Activity Centre for the Disabled, community befriending, medical chaperone and transport service, Meals with Love, and Community First Aid, and we build capacity and resilience through our training academy, and volunteer and youth development. Beyond our shores, we mobilise and translate contributions from the donor community to relief and recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts, with the aim of helping communities affected by disasters. Here are some ways to give and get involved with the Red Cross: Become an Employee: You can make a difference every day. No matter what your interests are, you'll find something that you enjoy at the Red Cross. Work with us to mobilise the Power of Humanity. Volunteer: You can make a difference, by volunteering your skills or time. For instance, you can comfort an isolated elder or teach first aid to children. Whether you are interested in community services or international services, you'll find something of interest. Donate: You have the power to make a difference in someone's life. All you have to do is make a contribution. Every donation at redcross.sg helps provide services to the vulnerable. Give Blood: You can be a lifeline for patients who need blood transfusions. Even if you can’t give, you can spread the word or help organise a blood drive. Visit giveblood.sg to find out more!

Senior Executive - Singapore Red Cross Society

My HOD Johnny Tang and I just returned from an incredible trip to Thailand, where we had the privilege of attending ‘The 58th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar’, curated by the Thai Red Cross Society at Siam Paragon (27/02/25 - 02/03/25). We kicked off our journey by visiting the Thai Red Cross Society on the eve of the bazaar and meeting the amazing team behind the event. Later, we toured the venue, witnessing firsthand how the bazaar was coming together. The opening ceremony, presided over by Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, was a true honor to attend. The bazaar was a vibrant mix of cultures, with embassies and local communities coming together to raise funds for charity. The energy was electric as long-time supporters eagerly explored the event. I couldn't help but admire the incredible stalls—I wanted to purchase everything! Key Takeaways: - This trip was invaluable for learning, networking, and cultural exchange. - Grateful for the opportunity to connect with new friends and experience such a prestigious event. Excited to apply all the insights gained to future endeavors! Singapore Red Cross #ThaiRedCrossSociety #Learning #Networking #Grateful #Charity #Fundraising

  • It's #InternationalWomensDay! We're casting the spotlight on just a few of the women whose work at the Singapore Red Cross makes an impact in unique and powerful ways. Florence Sim is part of our Community Engagement team, serving vulnerable older persons in the East of Singapore. Her days may involve anything from scheduling home visits and making follow-up calls to organising outings, coordinating pickups, or designing engaging programmes — she does it all to enrich the lives of our seniors. They, in turn, brighten her days as well — she reflects, "I am moved by the moments when they share their past experiences and how our interactions brighten their days, reminding me that every effort counts." #sgredcross #PassionPeople  📸 3–4 by James Tan, volunteer photographer

  • This #InternationalWomensDay, we cast the spotlight on just a few of the women whose work at the Singapore Red Cross makes an impact in unique and powerful ways. Sarinah Suliman is part of a vital team that works to match volunteers with programme needs and ensure that their volunteering journey is a fulfilling one. Her prior experience in the education sector shaped her understanding of vulnerable communities among us and showed her just how much of an impact she could make by offering her time and support. What she witnessed inspired her to pursue a career in humanitarian service. People remain at the heart of what she does, as she puts it — "We work to create an environment where volunteers feel genuinely valued. Through regular recognition, training opportunities, and fostering a strong sense of community, they'd know that their contributions matter, and be encouraged to continue." #sgredcross #PassionPeople #VolunteerWithSRC

  • This #InternationalWomensDay, we're highlighting just a few of the women whose work at the Singapore Red Cross makes an impact in unique and powerful ways. As Head of the Centre for Psychosocial Support at the Singapore Red Cross Academy, Durga Naidu leads a team of practitioners, psychologists, counsellors, trainers, and healthcare professionals. Her work helps to strengthen mental health resilience in communities by empowering people with psychosocial support skills, and advocates for mental well-being to be considered a critical part of humanitarian work. She shares, "Every time I see a first responder confidently applying psychological first aid, a community leader fostering mental wellness, or a corporate team prioritising emotional resilience, I am reminded that our work is not just about knowledge, it’s about building a culture of care, empathy, and strength that lasts beyond any single crisis." #PassionPeople #sgredcross

Assistant Secretary General - Corporate, Singapore Red Cross

Known as the “disaster of the century” in Turkey, the 2023 earthquakes took the lives of 50,000 in Turkey and 6,000 in Syria. Last week, we come face to face with courageous survivors whose lived experiences offered glimpses of their immense strength and shared hope. ❤️ A mum who lost both her children, and whose husband lost his leg, shares how she is now going for painting sessions (art therapy by the Turkish Red Crescent - TRC) to keep depressive thoughts at bay. ❤️ A young student who lost her home, shares how the TRC library (within the network of container homes) gave her a space to revise and prepare for her exams. ❤️ A woman who is battling cancer, shares how hopeful she is - knowing TRC volunteers have been and will continue to look out for her. ❤️ A man whose first post-quake interaction with a TRC volunteer who offered him a warm meal touched him so deeply, he returned to the TRC branch to offer himself as a volunteer, as so many more were in a worst state. He has been actively volunteering since. The Turkish Red Crescent Türk Kızılay has been at the heart of the humanitarian response, and gave an update on the progress and challenges of recovery efforts, at the “Together Towards Tomorrow” event, that was co-organised by TRC, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - IFRC and the Singapore Embassy in Ankara, on the second anniversary of the earthquakes. On behalf of the Singapore Red Cross, I shared reflections on the solidarity of the people of Singapore with the affected communities of Turkey and Syria; our continued partnership with TRC for earthquake recovery and resilience programmes; and the friendship and collaboration between SRC and TRC, as well as between the peoples of Turkiye and Singapore. So blessed to wear a beautiful floral vest that’s handmade by volunteers at the TRC Ankara Community Centre, symbolising love and hope 🥰

  • The Singapore Red Cross (SRC) has launched a public fundraising appeal to support the scaling up of relief operations in #Gaza by Red Cross Red Crescent Movement partners, including the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), amid the ongoing ceasefire. Funds raised from this appeal will directly support the displaced Palestinian communities in Gaza. SRC had earlier committed SGD 300,000 in relief supplies for the affected communities, when the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire took effect on 19 January 2025. “With the first phase of the ceasefire in place, and discussions underway for the second phase of the ceasefire, it is crucial that we step up on humanitarian efforts to address the urgent needs of civilians most of whom are without even the most basic necessities such as food and shelter. With the launch of our fundraising appeal, we hope that the people of Singapore will come together to extend their support to the affected communities and provide some respite as Ramadan approaches,” said Mr Benjamin William, Secretary General/CEO of the Singapore Red Cross.
