"𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙?" This question resonates with organisations today as they aim to transform their approaches to employee wellbeing and benefits, recognising that compensation alone simply isn’t enough. At today's 𝗞𝗼𝗽𝗶 𝗫𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗿: 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲, we explored how companies are creating benefits with a people-centred approach, asking employees what they truly value and adapting to meet these needs. It was an inspiring session, filled with insights from Julia Radchenko and Cecilia Tang of Mercer. The session covered essential topics like people risks, with Singapore uniquely identifying misconduct as a top concern. With Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as a priority, companies are evolving beyond traditional benefits to address diverse needs and recognising wellbeing’s multidimensional nature. For example, they are optimising programmes to offer customised options for their workforce, thus tackling rising healthcare costs. 🌟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐈 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 🌟 Our Executive Director, Alvin Aloysius Goh (MSHRI, MCIPD, MSID, IHRP-SP), moderated an engaging panel at EHL Campus, exploring how #AI is reshaping the #hospitality industry. With a room full of students preparing to enter the workforce, the discussion brought to light the unique challenges of AI #integration in a sector that thrives on human #connection. The panellists, who are established #HR leaders, emphasised that while AI can drive #productivity, it must be integrated thoughtfully, ensuring it doesn’t replace the human touch essential for hyper-personalised services. For example, AI tools are valuable in streamlining processes, but #hiring decisions remain a task best handled by people, ensuring the right candidates are selected for the job. 👨🍳✨ The conversation also touched on flexi-work arrangements, noting that hospitality often attracts those who enjoy the on-site work environment over remote options. Still, flexible work arrangements (#FWAs) are in place, tailored to different needs. 🤝 Looking ahead, the panel identified #sustainability as one of the critical skills over the next 3-5 years, aligning with the broader #ESG agenda. Effective management of resources, like reducing food waste, will be key for future professionals looking to make an impact. 🌱♻️ We wish these aspiring professionals the best as they navigate this evolving landscape. A balanced, customer-centric approach to AI will set them apart. A big thank you to EHL Campus and the panellist for this inspiring session. We hope the students left ready to shape the future of hospitality! ✨ #SHRI #AI #HospitalityIndustry #FutureOfWork #ESG #EHL #FutureSkills Joanne Loh Deirdre Allen Audrey Lim (Yasin) Junaidi Nyoto

We are glad to see National Wages Council (NWC)’s support for lower-wage #workers, in the recently announced 2024/2025 Guidelines. urging #employers to adopt practices that foster fair and #sustainable wage growth across #Singapore. At #SHRI, we believe that employers should consider how they can uplift all workers by offering both #tangible and #intangible benefits, as well as inclusive benefits and opportunities that meet their needs at different stages of their #careers and lives. Employers and #employees need to come together to co-create a cohesive environment for ideas and solutions to flow in order to enhance #productivity in our #workplace. Check out the key recommendations from NWC: 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀: Employers are encouraged to base wage increases on a flexible wage system, ensuring fairness for all employees. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿-𝗪𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀: The NWC emphasises the importance of sustained wage growth for lower-wage workers, helping to bridge the income gap.
