About us

The Singapore Water Association aspires to play a role in efforts to profile and promote Singapore as a one-stop centre for all water-related services and water technology hub. This Association will bring together local companies for the mutual benefit of developing a vibrant and dynamic local water industry. The Association aims to provide a forum for collaboration and the inter-change of ideas and knowledge among member companies. In addition, it will be an arena for networking among members and dissemination of strategic information on emerging business opportunities and new technologies. SWA as an association will create an awareness and a brand name for itself through actively participating in foreign conferences and seminars, showcasing itself and members at exhibitions and trade shows and collaboration with other water bodies worldwide. SWA serves as an important network link for members to the international water network. It also contributes to strengthen the presence of Singapore companies in the global market. VISION To be the regional hub for all water services and technologies. MISSION To develop a vibrant and dynamic Singapore Water Industry.

  • On August 23, 2024, the Singapore Water Association (SWA) organized a site visit to the Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant for delegates from Indonesia’s APPAMSI. Led by Mr Marcus Lim, SWA’s Vice-President (Finance), the delegation was introduced to SWA SG Water INC members. Angie Ng, Senior Manager of KMEDP, hosted the delegates and SWA members, providing an insightful tour. Mr. Han Tong Ng from PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency presented an overview of the Singapore Water Ecosystem. During the visit, APPAMSI discussed challenges faced in Indonesia, fostering open discussions and collaboration opportunities. Delegates also gained insights into KMEDP’s operations and processes. The event concluded with a gastronomic networking dinner at TARBOUSH Cafe & Restaurant. A heartfelt thank you to all the enthusiastic delegates!   • 🌟 Recap of the 52nd Singapore Water Industry Nite! 🌊 We were thrilled to host another successful Singapore Water Industry Nite with almost 100 attendees on 15th August 2024 at the WaterHub Peirce Auditorium, with the evening proudly sponsored by Wilo Group. The night culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Pacific Refreshments Pte Ltd (The Coca-Cola Company, CPS), marking a significant step in our ongoing commitment to the Alliance on Water Stewardship, signed by SWA VP (Sustainability & New Initiatives) Mr Kunal Shah and CPS EHS Director Mr Shih Tak Khew, witnessed by SWA President Mr Men Leong Chew and CPS Plant General Manager Mr Gerardo Artavia Rodríguez. Mr. Men Leong Chew, SWA President, kicked off the evening with insightful updates on the water industry while we were honoured to have Mr Jens Dallendoerfer and Ms. Eva Kerstholt from Wilo Group to share their valuable perspectives on the region's water challenges, opportunities and introduction of Wilo. Ms. Corinna Chan, CEO of the Singapore International Foundation, delivered an impactful presentation on the role of international collaboration in advancing water sustainability. A networking dinner session capped off the night, fostering connections and collaborations. Thanks to our speakers, participants and Wilo Group for their generous sponsorship.   • On 11th July 2024, Singapore Water Association hosted a dynamic sharing session with esteemed delegates from India, including representatives from the Tata Group. Tata Strategic Management Group (TSMG) is the strategy centre of excellence for the Tata Group. TSMG also drives thought leadership across the group through innovative knowledge platforms and helps define opportunities for strategic collaboration between the Tata group and external entities. Singapore Water Association (SWA), kicked off the session with an insightful presentation on the Singapore water ecosystem and SWA's pivotal role. Following, we have both of the speakers sharing the different issues faced in India and exploring potential solutions. These candid discussions provided a valuable platform for understanding the unique challenges and identifying opportunities for collaboration. The session concluded with a delightful networking refreshment, where participants had the opportunity to connect, share ideas, and forge new partnerships.     🌟 Day 2 : Singapore Business Forum - Thursday, 20th June 2024 The forum commenced with a warm Welcome Address by the SWA President, Mr. Men Leong Chew, who emphasized the importance of partnership and technological advancements in driving sustainable water management. Following the welcome address, SMS Dr. Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and Ministry of Transport, delivered the Opening Remarks. Dr. Khor highlighted the critical role of innovative solutions and cross-sector collaboration in addressing global water challenges. The forum then proceeded with a series of engaging events: •  YWP Mentorship Graduation Ceremony took place. During the ceremony, medallions were presented to the Young Water Professionals Committee (YWPC) 2022-2024 and their mentors by SMS Dr. Amy Khor. This event celebrated the achievements of young professionals in the water sector and recognized the valuable guidance provided by their mentors. •  Continued with the MOU Signing Ceremony between SWA and the Malaysian Water Association (Sarawak) on Cross Border Collaboration. This significant agreement aims to enhance cooperation and knowledge exchange between Singapore and Malaysia, fostering innovative solutions and joint efforts in water management. • Following this, another important MOU Signing Ceremony took place between SWA and the Shenzhen Water Association. This MOU further solidifies the commitment to international collaboration, focusing on sharing best practices and jointly developing innovative water management solutions. •  Concluded with an insightful Panel Discussion on Fostering International Partnerships in the Water Landscape. Esteemed panelists explored the importance of global collaboration in addressing water challenges, sharing best practices, and leveraging international partnerships to drive sustainable water management.     🌟 Day 2 of SIWW2024: Coastal Protection Business Forum! - Thursday, 20th June 2024 Singapore International Water Week 2024 continued with a strong focus on collaboration and innovation, featuring two pivotal forums in the afternoon. Coastal Protection Business Forum: The Coastal Protection Business Forum was a dynamic and insightful event where experts, innovators, and thought leaders gathered to discuss and explore cutting-edge strategies for coastal protection. Key highlights included: • A Welcome Address by the SWA Vice President (General Affairs), Mr. Charles Quek, setting the tone for a day of engaging discussions and knowledge sharing. • An MOU Signing Ceremony between SWA, CFISg, and FCCA, marking a significant step towards enhanced cooperation and innovation in coastal protection. • A thought-provoking Fireside Chat moderated by Ms. Pritha Hariram from Ramboll, where key stakeholders discussed the challenges and opportunities in coastal protection. • An engaging Panel Discussion on the topic "Guardians of the Coast - Innovating Coastal Protection for a Resilient Future," moderated by Mr. James Lam from Surbana Jurong.     🌟 Vietnam Business Forum: Strengthening Ties and Exploring Opportunities! - Wednesday, 19th June 2024 We concluded Day 1 of the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2024 with the impactful Vietnam Business Forum, highlighting on the signing of MoU between SWA, VWSA and PUB. SWA Vice-President (General Affairs), Mr Charles Quek gave a short introduction, emphasizing on SWA and the benefits of signing the MoU with Vietnam Water Supply & Sewerage Association. This inaugural MoU signifies the vital importance of fostering international partnerships, transcending borders, and industries. The MoU is on cross border partnership to support SIWW & Vietnam Water Week for the next 3 years.
