Y🚀 What an incredible morning at #SWITCH2024! The Space Tech Track was a resounding success, showcasing the dynamic world of space technology and its impact on the wider innovation agenda. SSTL is honoured to be the content partner this year. We are excited to see new faces at the conference exploring space tech applications and playing a part in bringing space into mainstream tech. 🎤 Today’s highlights featured insightful discussions on the global space tech landscape, financing strategies for space ventures, innovations from Singapore-based companies, and the real-world applications of space technologies across various industries. Dalvir Singh, Acting Director of Industry Development at Office for Space Technology & Industry, Singapore (OSTIn), highlighted how AI, digitalisation, and quantum open new frontiers in space technology and present tremendous opportunities for innovation and collaboration. He added, “Singapore has a pivotal role to play in these new growth areas of space and tech, and we can boost our learning together with partners from all over the world.” In a panel on real-world applications of space tech, Vincent Kessler 葛厚仪 discussed the benefits of SAR in tropical regions with frequent cloud cover. He noted that SAR technology is essential for monitoring infrastructure movement, particularly in urban revitalisation and disaster-prone areas, stating, "We can detect millions of points on the ground compared to Earth sensors to track the movement of infrastructure, bridges, and buildings after a major event." Mark Shmulevich put the spotlight on rising investments going into the space industry, “We are fast approaching a tipping point in investments in the space industry driven by a growing understanding of how interconnected space is to many other verticals in tech. It is critical for startups to find synergies across different sectors. In the same way that is riding the AI wave now, we're going to see a similar wave for Space tech to be integrated into many other sectors and branches of technology - albeit with a longer gestation period.” As we conclude this inspiring event, we continue to advance space technology, unlocking new opportunities and driving meaningful innovation together. #SSTL #SgSpace #Sg_space #Space #Singapore #SpaceCollaboration #SpaceInnovation #SpaceTech #Technology #Innovation #SpaceEcosystem #SWITCH2024
