We’re excited to share that Sisters’ Island Marine Park has finally opened and is ready for visitors!   The larger of the two islands has several new features including Singapore’s first floating boardwalk, a costal forest trail with panoramic views, a solar farm, desalination plant and a lagoon tidal pool fitted with our advanced 5G technology so the public can learn more about our rich array of marine and terrestrial biodiversity such as coral reefs and mangroves. By turning the tidal pool into an outdoor classroom, we’re supporting the educational and outreach programmes under the Singtel Marine Explorer Programme @ Sisters’ Islands Marine Park that help raise awareness of our environment and conservation efforts. Tian Chong Ng, CEO, Singtel Singapore, said, “Sustainability is an integral part of our business and operations, and we have been proactively working with stakeholders to minimise our environmental footprint and conserve nature. We are glad to deepen our partnership with NParks to enhance Sisters’ Islands Marine Park. Our support also includes contributing technology expertise which will help bring the new tidal pool’s underwater ecosystem closer to researchers and our community. Together with NParks, we hope to create greater awareness of the marine park’s rich biodiversity and the importance of conservation, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.”   This collaboration is part of Singtel’s 4D approach to environmental sustainability – aimed at Defending infrastructure, Decarbonising, Dematerialising, and Delivering sustainable value as we work towards achieving our net zero 2045 goals.   Find out more about our sustainability efforts here: https://lnkd.in/gpKEjBEk Desmond Lee Sam Liew Yu-Ning Hwang   #Singtel #EmpowerEveryGeneration #SistersIsland #Sustainability #Biodiversity #Conservation #MarineConservation #SistersIslandsMarinePark

As part of yesterday’s Top Executives Day activities, we had the honour of having Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, Mr Teo Chee Hean, join us for a special presentation as well as an open dialogue session moderated by Singtel’s Vice President of Group Strategic Communications and Brand, Lian Pek. He discussed the potential impact of various global geopolitical developments on Singapore, as well as the country’s position and responses to these issues in an increasingly fragmented world. We thank Mr Teo for taking the time to join us - the dialogue was great food for thought for our top executives as the company continues to transform and execute its growth plan. #Singtel28 #Transformation #StrategicGrowth #Leadership

There's an estimated shortage of 4,000 cyber professionals in Singapore, and that gap grows to 2.7 million in Asia Pacific, according to the 2023 Cybersecurity Workforce Study. To fill this gap, Singtel joined Singapore Computer Society's Skills Pathway for Cybersecurity, an initiative to empower individuals through industry-relevant training, certifications, and opportunities for internships and job placements as a founding employer.   Catch the discussion with Singtel Singapore CEO Tian Chong Ng on MONEY FM 89.3 as he shared with hosts Ryan Huang and Audrey Siek this morning on how we’re curating an industry-relevant curriculum to help learners be equipped with the skills organisations are seeking in cybersecurity professionals. The Skills Pathway for Cybersecurity is accessible to anyone aspiring to join the cybersecurity field, especially mid-career professionals who are looking to make the switch. We proudly celebrated a decade of the Singtel Carnival, with a record 2,500 students from 23 special education schools. A heartfelt thank you to Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Minister, Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Education and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, for joining us and the children in the festivities. This year, around 2,200 dedicated volunteers from Singtel and the Singapore Business Network on DisAbility (SBNoD) transformed Hall 5 at Singapore Expo into a vibrant playground that celebrated diversity and reinforced our commitment to supporting individuals with special needs in our community. With 55 food and game stalls, the carnival provided a safe and engaging environment where children could gain valuable life skills while enjoying a fun-filled day. Activities such as basketball, skee-ball, and magnetic fishing, are designed to help the children improve their motor skills, while interacting with the volunteers helped them to improve their social and communication skills. Aileen Tan, Group Chief People and Sustainability Officer at Singtel added, “As we celebrate ten years of inclusion with these incredible children, I couldn’t be prouder of how the Singtel Carnival continues to make a real difference in their lives. This annual event not only helps them develop their social and cognitive skills but also builds a sense of inclusion and understanding of vulnerable communities among our employees and partners. It’s all about fostering empathy, a deeper connection, and a shared purpose within our community”. This is part of our corporate philanthropy programme, the Singtel Touching Lives Fund (STLF), which supports six special education (SPED) schools so they can achieve their full potential and lead meaningful lives. #SingtelCarnival #Community #SingtelTouchingLivesFund #EmpowerEveryGeneration

We are proud to co-develop Singapore’s first Emissions Factors Registry in partnership with Singapore Business Federation, A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research and PwC Singapore. The Singapore Emission Factors Registry is a groundbreaking initiative that curates and aggregates emission factors into a single source. It will also in the future develop and expand the suite of emissions factors, helping Singapore-based businesses calculate greenhouse gas emissions more easily. As more companies adopt and utilise this local registry, it will also enhance our accounting and reporting for Scope 3 as we can present a more accurate picture for indirect emissions.   Aileen Tan, Singtel's Group Chief People and Sustainability Officer, said, "We believe a collaborative approach is needed for the business community to tackle the complexities of measuring and reporting carbon emissions and achieve more precise climate-related disclosures. We are glad to jointly establish the Singapore Emissions Factors Registry with SBF and share what we have learned from our own experiences with other companies to further emissions accounting. With Scope 3 reporting expected to rapidly evolve, we have also pledged a S$1 million donation to SBF Foundation’s Corporate Purpose Initiative over the next five years to drive projects like the registry which will lead to more informed decision-making and action to advance decarbonisation and Singapore's net-zero transition.”   The Singapore Emission Factors Registry is free to use and can be accessed here: https://www.netzerohub.sg   In line with our net zero 2045 goals, we’ve been progressively incorporating enhancements to every aspect of our business such as decarbonising our operations through electrification as well as transitioning to renewable energy and low-carbon or carbon-free alternatives. Let’s work together to build a more sustainable future!   #Singtel #Sustainability #EmpowerEveryGeneration #NetZero

We are delighted to share that our book, Voices from Comcentre, has officially been released! This page-turner chronicles Singtel’s journey since 1879, including the past 45 years that Comcentre has served as Singtel’s headquarters. A skyscraper in the heart of Orchard Road, Comcentre has become an iconic sight for generations of Singaporeans looking to have their connectivity needs met. It has been the site of many milestones – from being one of the first 1G base stations to being the place where we sold the first iPhone in Singapore. In Voices from Comcentre, you’ll uncover first-hand accounts from visionary pioneers of communication technology. “As Singtel celebrates its 145th anniversary, it is also timely to take stock of how far we’ve come and where we are headed. Comcentre has served as innovation central for decades and its redevelopment is a strategic move that will ensure Singtel continues to lead in the 5G era and beyond," said Yuen Kuan Moon, Singtel Group CEO. “Besides commemorating the building, this book pays tribute to our employees who have made Singtel what it is today.” Lian Pek, Singtel’s Vice President of Group Strategic Communications and Brand, and the book’s editor said, “For many, Comcentre had become a topography of their working lives, a repository of milestones, memory and meaning - an emotional space, in short. We sought to capture this emotional relationship between Comcentre and its occupants.” We are grateful to all who joined us for the launch of our new book and documentary film screening. It was a special occasion with our first chairman Frank Yung, as well as former CEO Wong Hung Khim and former GCEO Chua Sock Koong joining Chairman Lee Theng Kiat and Group Chief Executive Officer Yuen Kuan Moon. Voices from Comcentre will go on sale from today at our Singtel Shops in 313@somerset, Jurong Point and Tampines Mall for $25. All purchases will be equally matched by Singtel, with proceeds going to the Singtel Touching Lives Fund which supports the Community Chest and special education schools. #Singtel #EmpowerEveryGeneration #VoicesFromComcentre #Innovation
