We’re excited to share that Sisters’ Island Marine Park has finally opened and is ready for visitors! The larger of the two islands has several new features including Singapore’s first floating boardwalk, a costal forest trail with panoramic views, a solar farm, desalination plant and a lagoon tidal pool fitted with our advanced 5G technology so the public can learn more about our rich array of marine and terrestrial biodiversity such as coral reefs and mangroves. By turning the tidal pool into an outdoor classroom, we’re supporting the educational and outreach programmes under the Singtel Marine Explorer Programme @ Sisters’ Islands Marine Park that help raise awareness of our environment and conservation efforts. Tian Chong Ng, CEO, Singtel Singapore, said, “Sustainability is an integral part of our business and operations, and we have been proactively working with stakeholders to minimise our environmental footprint and conserve nature. We are glad to deepen our partnership with NParks to enhance Sisters’ Islands Marine Park. Our support also includes contributing technology expertise which will help bring the new tidal pool’s underwater ecosystem closer to researchers and our community. Together with NParks, we hope to create greater awareness of the marine park’s rich biodiversity and the importance of conservation, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.” This collaboration is part of Singtel’s 4D approach to environmental sustainability – aimed at Defending infrastructure, Decarbonising, Dematerialising, and Delivering sustainable value as we work towards achieving our net zero 2045 goals.
