We recently launched “Start Now, Hello Health”, Singtel’s new initiative to champion the physical well-being of employees! From energising activities to thought-provoking discussions, the kickoff event was a powerful reminder of why staying active and prioritising our health matters. It was inspiring to see our people come together - whether for a mass stretch, a body composition analysis, or simply to explore ways to build sustainable wellness habits. Tian Chong Ng, CEO of Singtel Singapore, set the tone with an insightful opening, sharing practical tips on how to build and sustain healthy habits despite a busy schedule. Dr Chan Tat Hon followed with a session on how simple lifestyle choices can significantly impact both lifespan and healthspan. Throughout the event, interactive booths hosted by the Health Promotion Board, National Healthcare Group, and AIA Singapore provided our people with tools and guidance to kickstart their well-being journey. By embracing well-being as a shared priority, we’re strengthening our distinctive BIG (Belonging, Impact, Growth) culture - creating a supportive environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging, can make a meaningful impact, and continues to grow both personally and professionally. #wellbeing #health #people #culture #belongingimpactgrowth

Wouldn’t it be great if you could get your Malay-speaking grandma to tell you tales about Singapore in English? Well, that’s what we did. In celebration of SG60, we used AI to help families bridge intergenerational communication gaps through storytelling. We created a film that features 14 talents, comprising Singtel employees and their family members, who tell a folktale about Pulau Ubin. The story was narrated in the native languages of seven of the participants featured, including English, Chinese, Malay, Tamil, Teochew, Hokkien and Malayam languages, reflecting Singapore’s diverse mother tongue languages and dialects. These were then translated into another language using AI.   The film utilises AI-powered voice-generation, lip-syncing and generative art technology to enable authentic multilingual storytelling, showcasing the power of AI in transcending language barriers. With AI, expressions and voice samples were captured during filming and used to create animated facial movements and overlaid voices. It was also used to generate images to bring the story to life. Developed in partnership with Hogarth and School of Film & Media Studies, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, this initiative is part of Singtel’s ongoing collaboration with educational institutions to leverage AI to foster innovation, enhance experiences and drive learning. Singtel is ushering in Chinese New Year with ‘Once Upon a CNY’, which celebrates how AI is unlocking new possibilities and making lives easier.   The film features wife and mother Mei and her struggles with preparations for her family’s CNY festivities. The accidental but timely intervention of an AI assistant helps her visualise a brave new world where the latest technologies allow her to tackle her tasks with unprecedented ease.   Kuan Moon Yuen, Singtel Group CEO, said, “We have always strived to stay abreast of technology to serve our customers better and this year, AI-driven innovation will definitely be front and centre as we bring its transformative powers to our retail and enterprise customers. By showing how AI can even transform everyday life at home, we are underlining our commitment to making AI accessible to all by enriching consumers lives and empowering enterprises to innovate, reinvent themselves and grow.”    “The burnt out mom is both universal and relatable, which is why we chose her to demonstrate the very real benefits of deploying best-in-class connectivity and technology at home. This is especially pertinent during festive occasions like Chinese New Year where everyone can arm themselves with the latest technology to make their lives easier,” added Lian Pek, Singtel’s Vice President of Group Strategic Communications and Brand. “As a company that derives its purpose from empowering customers, this film is about how technology can do wonders in helping us keep traditions alive!”  #Singtel #EmpowerEveryGeneration #AI #ArtificialIntelligence
