When we built #Takadao in the #DeFi space, we knew from day one that our vision was global. The cross-border nature of our community made that straightforward. That’s why I made it a priority to meet our community in every major city where a #Web3 event takes place. It was during these events that I met Taha Ahmed from #ForbesWeb3 on several occasions. We quickly realized that, while Web3 was booming worldwide, the Middle East was missing a major gathering spot. I told Taha: In Riyadh, we have #LEAP and #FII, but nothing like Token2049 or ETH Denver. This realization sparked an idea—why not bring the brightest minds of the Web3 ecosystem together right here in Riyadh? That’s how we decided to organize a private dinner, gathering key players in the industry to share Forbes Web3’s vision and ignite the conversation in the region. The result was an incredible evening filled with passionate minds and forward-thinking leaders, all eager to dive into the possibilities of building the future of Web3. From insightful discussions to new connections, the energy was electric, and the engagement was top-notch. Taha highlighted how the market for Web3 is expanding at an unprecedented rate, surpassing even the early days of internet adoption. With Saudi Arabia ranking in the top 10 for Web3 adoption and leading in digital asset ownership, the Kingdom is clearly positioning itself as a key player in the Web3 revolution. Takadao shared our ambitious vision of becoming the first decentralized global protection fund—a community-driven alternative to traditional insurance, tapping into a $9 trillion annual revenue market in the insurance space. Faisal Monai from droppGroup shared his exciting vision for the future of digital twin events, showcasing how the next wave of innovation could transform how we interact with the digital and physical worlds. Yakeen Alzaki and Yasser N Alobaidan from Tharawat Green Exchange (TGE) Exchange highlighted the impact of Tharawat in reducing carbon emissions, emphasizing the role of sustainable tech in shaping our future.
