We saw a familiar face in The Straits Times recently - it's Jin Yi Toh, one of our Step IT Up graduates! So proud and glad to see her finding her legs as a business analyst working with Ministry of Education, Singapore (MOE) in developing Simpler: https://lnkd.in/g78BTVrr As an analyst, Jin Yi works to define user needs and pain points and use these information to drive product enhancements on Simpler, works with in-house engineers to translate these needs to product features, then analyses usage data with stakeholders to help improve on them for the benefit of users. In her own words, her experience on this project so far has been rewarding: "Working on this project allowed me to utilise skills I picked up from SIU (e.g. user research, service journey mapping, stakeholder management) and presented me the opportunity to pick up new skills (e.g. data analytics using Microsoft PowerBI). The team that I have been working with has been incredibly supportive of me when I proposed using this tool (PowerBI) to provide visuals for the data and gave me the space and time to pick up this tool by myself. Aside from that, the attitude that I have gained from SIU – always ask questions, be willing to take on challenges – has also made these contributions possible. Whenever presented with a new task or opportunity, even when it's something that I have not done before, I will always respond with a “I’m willing to try”. This is also aligned with my own personal aspirations - I strongly believe in and practice life-long learning, which makes it easy for me to take on new tasks and challenges." Keep going Jin Yi!
