Your B2B guide towards more Sustainability: solutions, suppliers, resources, experience sharing.

About us

The Matcha Initiative helps individuals in their professional lives to shift from an unsustainable “business as usual” towards a more conscious and active preparation for a better future. To be resilient and competitive in the long run, businesses have to integrate sustainability in their daily operations. Why? Because more and more people (partners, customers, employees, institutions) ask for responsible actions and both adaptation and mitigation measures are needed. The sooner you will start, the easier it will be. We believe that there is a huge potential for education, innovation and impact with businesses. We are also aware that driving change may be difficult for various reasons: lack of know-how, of budget, of time, of strategy… Our website is a one-stop tool to kickstart your journey towards sustainability. it provides sustainable best practices and solutions, sustainable suppliers, "buddies"-peers who accepted to share their own experience, resources to educate on sustainability and useful tools. The Matcha Initiative also provides talks, workshops, training, public masterclasses, and a monthly evening to bring the community together. The Matcha Initiative is a ground-up initiative created in Singapore, by a group of hands-on individuals who couldn’t witness the consequences of their actions on the planet and do nothing about it. Our members come from different walks of life. We are citizens, entrepreneurs, professionals, parents, change-makers. We believe collaboration is key to any change. We aim to build an ecosystem to create business & network opportunities, inspire more companies by sharing best practices, connect people and organisations and educate professionals. Together we are stronger: join the community of solution providers and experts. We happily discuss with Institutions, Associations, Chambers of Commerce, Universities, Startups, MNCs… Feel free to reach out to us at team[at]thematchainitiative[dot]com

Climate-related disruptions are one of the top risks to supply chains and overall business operations. However, instead of averting responsibilities and relying solely on policymakers to fortify supply chains and business infrastructures, companies need to drive and accelerate sustainability within their organisations. Our economy is deeply threatened by climate change and unprecedented climate phenomena, and businesses that do not act now will miss the train and inevidently fall behind competitors and the industry. But what does a sustainable supply chain look like? Where do companies need to start? How can supply chain managers push for a more sustainable department and business model? In a nutshell, organisations need to review and assess their supply chain and business strategy, before redefining the following processes: 📌 Procurement 📌 Manufacturing 📌 Logistics and Distribution  📌 Organisation Engagement Discover the best practices for a Sustainable Supply Chain here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gHdtSfS2 Find a summary of The Matcha Initiative's Sustainable Supply Chain below ⬇️

📢SUSTAINABILITY SUPPLIERS 📢 At The Matcha Initiative, we empower professionals to further the Sustainability agenda at their own capacities. As enablers, we help people remove barriers to sustainability solutions by breaking down the barriers of: 1) ignorance and lack of awareness, 2) first-mover fear, and 3) lack of technical expertise for implementation. We do this through our 1) Events and training, 2) Buddies, and 3) Suppliers Directory. This week we’re highlighting our suppliers in the ‘Waste Management’ category. Did you know that with the current trajectory of waste production, Singapore’s only landfill is expected to fill up by 2035? Not only is this an issue of land, but also of resources. Singapore’s Earth Overshoot Day in 2024 was on 6 April. This means that if the global population were to live the way a typical Singaporean would, we would need 4 planet Earths to generate enough resources to meet everyone’s needs. To reduce the strain on our planet’s boundaries, companies need to do their part to reduce material consumption and waste generation. Discover the suppliers who can help your organisation accelerate its sustainability progress in food (tagged below)! Discover the suppliers here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dQ2pnFbW The Suppliers Directory is a curated list of sustainability solutions providers that have been vetted and validated by our Validation Board, meeting our requirements of 1) providing B2B solutions, and 2) having a sustainable business model and/or providing sustainable solutions and/or products/services that enable a positive impact on the environment. With over 200 suppliers listed on our website, we wanted to highlight some of them to spread the word of the good work they’re doing, and expand the network of sustainability solutions providers. 📢SUSTAINBLE SUPPLY CHAIN📢 In this 3rd instalment of breaking down the topic of Sustainable Supply Chain, we dive into the area of Manufacturing. While Scope 3 emissions are crucial and the bulk of an organisation’s emissions, they are also the most difficult to account for. Companies should start with the more straightforward measurement of their emissions profile, beginning with their Scope 1 and 2. Reviewing the manufacturing aspect of any organisation is the elementary and paramount step to do this. Want to know how? Read The Matcha Initiative’s Sustainable Supply Chain Category here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gnU3ZWPM The Matcha Initiative's Sustainable Supply Chain is a curation of best practices, designed and consolidated by our group of category experts, Delphine Laurien Adrien de Buttet Violaine Balland, to help companies improve their supply chain processes. Global sustainable development is a multi-stakeholder concern, and companies and industries have to play their parts. However, we know that each company’s sustainability transition is at different maturity stages, which is why each solution also highlights sustainability suppliers who can help implement the solution, as well as professionals who are open to share their insights and experiences in supply chain transformations. 📢Sustainable Supply Chain📢 The Matcha Initiative launched our Sustainable Supply Chain Category in June, a curation of best practices for companies to improve their supply chain processes. Global sustainable development is a multi-stakeholder concern; companies and industries have to play their parts. We know that a company’s impact extends beyond its core business activities, and much of its potential sustainable impact lies in its Scope 3. How can businesses start curbing their Scope 3 emissions, and make their value chains more sustainable? One key aspect is to relook and rethink the Procurement policy in a company. Suppliers account for more than 60% of most organisation’s value chain, and an effective way for companies to cut their emissions is to integrate sustainability into their procurement processes. By making suppliers accountable and responsible for their operations, organisations can improve their own responsibility in sustainable supply chain and overall business performance. Read The Matcha Initiative's Sustainable Supply Chain Category here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gHdtSfS2 What is The Matcha Initiative’s solutions? A curated database of best practices, designed and consolidated by our group of category experts and network members, i.e. our ‘Do-gooders’, to provide professionals access to quality solutions and quick wins to start their company’s sustainability journey.
