Today, we gathered as one Thomson family to celebrate our 10th Quality Day, marking ten years of commitment to quality excellence.   We honoured 3 exceptional doctors with the Service With a Heart Award for their outstanding service with compassion. 7 departments were proudly awarded the Excellence in Action Award for their significant contributions to patient care, and 9 departments received the Quality Improvement Award for their innovative efforts. A key highlight was our new mentoring program launched by our CEO SM Lee, designed to empower growth and collaboration across our teams. Underscoring our commitment to excellence, we were thrilled to have our Thomson Fetal Assessment Unit Dinner and Seminar 2024 bring together some 100 Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, and partners, for an evening of sharing, learning and fellowship. Among the evening’s highlights were updates on the topic of prenatal diagnosis and maternal fetal medicine, with in-depth presentations by guest speakers Professor Jon Hyett, Head of the Department of Maternal and Fetal Medicine at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney and the Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Western Sydney University, and Dr Chang Tou Chang, Medical Director of our Thomson Fetal Assessment Unit. We are excited to share that Dr. Fucai Han has successfully performed the first arthroscopic rotator cuff repair surgery at Thomson Medical Centre in just one hour! This keyhole procedure utilises minimally invasive techniques to repair tears in the rotator cuff, a group of muscles and tendons crucial for stabilising the shoulder joint, leading to less pain and faster patient recovery. With specialised equipment complementing our dedication to patient safety, Dr Han and our #ThomsonAngels ensured a positive care journey, resulting in a happy patient ready for the next phase of recovery. Meet Zaiti, our Security Supervisor and part-time ambulance driver who has been with Thomson Medical since 1997. He is the friendly face overseeing our car park and security operations, always with a welcoming smile!    Zaiti is driven daily by the opportunity to bring joy to our patients and stakeholders. Justin oversees Thomson Medical’s central supply chain, ensuring we have the materials, goods, and services essential to care for our #ThomsonMommies and #ThomsonBabies 🏥📦    In his five years at Thomson Medical, Justin has managed a range of scenarios, including the challenges of delivering medical supplies during the pandemic lockdown.
