Charge+ Completes US$8M Series A Funding! As a director of Charge+, I’m excited to share that Charge+ has successfully closed its Series A funding round, raising US$8 million. TRIVE is delighted to welcome TNB AURA as a new investor, joining at Series A2. It’s encouraging to see the rapid growth of electric vehicles (EVs) across Southeast Asia. Recent coverage by The Straits Times highlights Singapore’s ambitious goal of having 80% of its vehicle fleet electrified by 2040. Charge+ is well-positioned to support this transition, already operating over 2,000 EV chargers across six countries in the region, and partnering with numerous EV distributors and charging operators. A big shoutout to Tze Boon Ong and Chee Kiong Goh for their outstanding leadership and efforts in driving this success. We’re excited about what’s ahead! P.S. - Ping me if you are a commercial property owner in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia or Indonesia looking to install EV chargers in your buildings. Work with Charge+ with a deep experience in managing EV Chargers. #EV #ElectricVehicles #Sustainability #ChargePlus #TNB #TRIVE Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gaRnraJV

Since 1819, Singapore was built on the foundation of entrepreneurs. During that time, merchants ply their trade into Singapore. That remains the same till today as Singapore thrives on the entrepot trade between East and West. However, the world has evolved into many industries. And there is still the need for entrepreneurs to build upon the opportunities for Singapore as a financial and trading hub. Hear on part 2 of my podcast interview with Vince Chan, CFA CPA MBA Yale Chicago at Chief Change Officer about understanding this inherent need for a generation of entrepreneurs and how I acted upon this vision by building up a venture capital company to amplify the need to grow more entrepreneurs. #venturecapital #chiefchangeofficer @thevincechan

🇸🇬 "Is Singapore still relevant after 50 years?" This is the title of an article that Christopher Quek, CAIA published in 2015 when Singapore celebrated its 50th birthday as a nation. (https://lnkd.in/gx_wXv-h) 🖋 He did not simply express his views. He acted on it with passion and vision. Through TRIVE, which Chris founded after selling his family inheritance, he has invested in many promising ventures in the region. He is busy building an ECONOMIC ENGINE in Singapore and Southeast Asia. ❓ What's his vision? ❓ How has been the journey? ❓ Why did he have this view? Here's PART 2 of our featured coverage on Chris 👉 👉 Episode 1️⃣ 5️⃣ of Season 2️⃣ Out of the Comfort Zone: Singaporean Chris Quek’s Quest to Build His Own Legacy Beyond the Family Empire (Part 2) 🥦 https://lnkd.in/gCyxY2EG (Spotify) 🍎 https://lnkd.in/gihVvaev (Apple) 🎯 Key Highlights 🎯 🔶 Is Singapore still relevant after 50 years? Here's an entrepreneurial view ⬜ "In 2015, when Singapore celebrated its 50th birthday as a nation. Singapore evolved itself out of necessity where it built a whole nation, a workforce of engineers, scientists, bankers, lawyers, doctors, specialists. We started losing a whole generation of entrepreneurs." 🔶 How to Turn ‘Parents’ Old Ways’ into a Future-Proof Family Business ⬜ "I actually have a network of over 300 family business owners across Southeast Asia. And there's always this common themes that starts first.  Number one, how do I talk to my parents? How do I have a good working relationship with my parents and a family relationship back at home?  Number two, I don't like the way that my parents are doing things and I need to transform this business. How do I convince my parents that I can transform this business as well?" 🔶 Fatherhood and Fortune: What’s the Game Plan for Your Next Generation, Chris? ⬜ "Anybody who wants to help the next generation is to be a mentor of values rather than a mentor of processes." #singaporeventures #venturecapital #vcinsingapore 🚥 🚥 🚥 🚥 🚥 Chief Change Officer | Make Change Ambitiously 🏡 A Globally Modernist Community for Growth Progressives 🏄🏻♂️ Highest Rankings on Apple Podcasts Charts in Careers 1️⃣ 🇨🇦 🇺🇲 🇲🇽 🇮🇪 🇨🇭🇭🇺 🇦🇹 2️⃣ 🇬🇧 🇫🇷 🇸🇪 🇸🇬 🇮🇳 #MakeYourLawsOfChange #ChiefChangeOfficer #CareerTransitions #FutureOfCareers #CareerChange #FutureOfWork #Podcasts

An Insightful 3-Month Internship with New Adventures Ahead 🌟 I'm thrilled to share that I've just wrapped up a transformative summer internship at TRIVE, a leading licensed Venture Capital Fund Manager based in Singapore, where I had the opportunity to work under their newest Web3 Fund, TRIVE Digital. 🚀 Over the past three months, I've gained invaluable experience in evaluating startups from a VC perspective, and I've delved deep into the Web3 and blockchain technology space—an area I was previously unfamiliar with. This exposure to the future of decentralised technology, entertainment and finance has been eye-opening and truly enriching! One of the highlights of my internship was contributing to TRIVE Digital's branding and marketing initiatives. I had the privilege of growing our following by 2,000 people, which was a rewarding experience that allowed me to apply my skills and make a tangible impact. A huge thank you to TRIVE Digital’s General Partners, Daryl L. and Shawn Tan, for your immense trust in me and guidance throughout this journey. Your mentorship and support have been instrumental in my professional growth. I also want to express my gratitude to TRIVE’s Founding Partners, LECK Ting Yan 陆霆谚 and Christopher Quek, CAIA, for your warm hospitality and the honest advice that has helped shape my career aspirations. A special shoutout to my manager, Tzy Hwan Hiew, for your unwavering support and genuine care, checking in on both my work and well-being. And a heartfelt thanks to Yik Haw T., who interned alongside me—sharing this experience with you made it all the more memorable. Though my 3-month internship has concluded, I'm excited to share that I've accepted an offer to continue working with TRIVE part-time while I’m in the United States. I’ll be focusing on their events and PR matters, and I’m looking forward to staying connected with this amazing team! Thank you, TRIVE Digital, for an unforgettable experience and for the opportunities ahead. ✨

Had a fantastic time speaking at Malaysia Blockchain Week 2024 on the "Raising Funds in Southeast Asia" panel. It was an honor to share the stage with Teong Hng, Gabriel Yang, Lewis from Ouroboros Capital, and Sanjay Popli — thank you all for your invaluable insights! We provided a comprehensive overview of how VCs operate and the current trends in the market, helping startups and founders navigate the fundraising landscape more effectively. For me, the key takeaway is the importance of a founder's grit. As I mentioned during the panel, "Even if you run out of cash, you have what it takes to survive." That resilience can make all the difference in turning challenges into opportunities. Looking forward to seeing the impact these discussions will have on the growth of our ecosystem! #MYBW2024 #TRIVEDigital

It was an incredible experience speaking at the inaugural Malaysia Blockchain Week 2024 on the "DAOs: Democratic Governance or Dysfunctional Anarchy?" panel! Huge shoutout to my fellow panelists Geston Yong Thoong, George Wong, Chaw Wei Yang and our awesome moderator Amos Tan — thanks for making the discussion so dynamic and insightful. In the panel, we got into the nitty-gritty of DAOs, debating whether they’re the future of democratic governance or if they risk spiralling into chaos. One big takeaway for me? DAOs have game-changing potential, but the real challenge is finding that sweet spot for effective decision-making within equitable decentralisation. Super excited to see where we take these ideas next! #MYBW2024 #TRIVEDigital #Web3
