Deepavali, also known as the Festival of Light, is a time for sharing, giving, and reflecting on the importance of empathy. It’s a season that reminds us to extend a helping hand to those in need. For years, our charity has supported low-income patients who struggle with out-of-pocket expenses after their discharge. Touched by the kindness of donors, some of them have stepped forward to share their stories of gratitude and resilience. This Deepavali, be inspired and learn how you can light up someone's life: https://lnkd.in/g5SjZdCG Show kindness by supporting our Festive Giving Campaign: https://lnkd.in/gHnWAAse

Besides pain and discomfort, patients nearing the end of life often face anxiety and depression. Through our Programme of All Inclusive Care for the Terminally Ill (PACT), our therapists help to alleviate patients' pain, reduce stress, and ease anxiety. Patients are engaged in meaningful activities such as painting, with their artwork gifted to loved ones. This helps them connect meaningfully and share lasting memories with their families. By fostering ‘continuing bonds’ through art and music, we support both patients and their families during this challenging time. The Art for Hearts campaign, organised by TTSH’s Department of Palliative Medicine, raises funds to support terminally ill patients, providing interim funding for home and community care expenses after they discharge from the hospital. Support our Art for Hearts campaign by donating via https://lnkd.in/gEERKRy2.

As we celebrate TTSH's 180th anniversary this year, we are grateful to our colleagues from Rehab, TTSH Allied Health Division for leading a meaningful campaign with our senior patients. Together, they created beautiful handcrafted cards, given as tokens of appreciation for our donors. Through this initiative, over $5,000 was raised in just over one month! Donors also had the opportunity to receive handmade cards directly from the patients they supported. A big thank you to our therapists, senior patients, and all the donors who made this initiative a success!

Last Friday at TTSH, we had the privilege of hosting a cheque presentation session with TADA Singapore, who generously donated $15,000 to support our IWanttoGoHome (IWGH) Fund. TADA has organised a Charity Walkathon with their drivers, and the fund raised will support TTSH needy patients with transport assistance. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to TADA for their fundraising efforts. And we encourage more local companies to partner with us. If you would like to support our IWGH Fund, you may visit https://lnkd.in/gPMd4wya to learn more.

With the launch of the Health For Generations Fund, our charity aims to raise $18 million over the next five years. This new Fund will support our hospital's developments in key areas such as innovation, preventive healthcare and capacity advancement!
In 1844, our hospital’s story began with our founding father Mr Tan Tock Seng. Today, 180 years later, we enter a new chapter – alongside an army of over 10,000. Last Friday, we were joined by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam as we celebrated our humble beginnings and looked forward to our role in tomorrow’s healthcare. We launched the Health For Generations Fund, which aims to raise $18 million over the next five years to support our developments in key areas such as innovation, preventive healthcare and capacity advancement. The highlight of the night featured a musical play ‘Where Our Heart Beats’, put together by award-winning actress and producer, Tan Kheng Hua. The play captured the stories of our staff and patients who have come through our hospital doors, past and present. The cast, consisting of local actors and TTSH staff, received a standing ovation for their portrayal of our true stories, as told by our colleagues. 34 staff and partners received our annual Staff Excellence Awards. Our hospital’s Total Workplace Safety & Health Council received the coveted Culture Transformation Award, and this year’s Milestone Awards went to our Integrated Diabetes Mellitus Care Collaborative team, and the Specialised Unit for Palliative Care team. It was an evening filled with smiles, tears, and immense hope for what lies ahead – as we march forward to deliver #HealthForGenerations
