AI adoption in Malaysia’s CX landscape is moving faster among individuals than in organizations, shared Shivanu Shukla, Principal Advisor, CX Practice at Twimbit, who spoke at the Bytes & Brews event in Kuala Lumpur, organized by Genesys. While 80% of CX professionals use AI tools personally, only 30% of organizations have integrated AI into their operations. The main barriers? Cost, data readiness, and security. In Q2 2024, APAC banks saw a modest 0.86% rise in net revenue, reaching $173.06 billion. Chinese banks remain dominant, accounting for 57% of APAC’s net revenue and generating 63% of total net profits. Despite challenges, banks in Indonesia and Singapore showed strong gains, with notable YoY net interest margin (NIM) growth in Singapore (18.74%) and Taiwan (18.46%). However, fee incomes declined, particularly in China and Thailand, and non-performing loans rose slightly to 1.7%.
