What is CBAM, and could it impact your business? Sam Nunn from our partners at RESET Carbon Ltd. 锐思碳管理 explains in our webinar “CSRD and CBAM: Decoding the Impact of EU Regulations on APAC Supply Chains.” CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) is designed to prevent carbon leakage—where companies produce abroad to bypass carbon emission limits and avoid paying EU carbon taxes. It requires importers to obtain certificates for products made outside the EU. This impacts: • EU-based companies producing CBAM-covered products. • Suppliers exporting to EU-based customers. The goal is to reduce carbon emissions and ensure a fair price on carbon-intensive imports. Almost there with just a couple more events on Saturday but #nyclimateweek has been a vibe. Really great discussions and panels - and great to (re)connect with old friends and new. Heard a lot from the Department of Energy, various NGOs and industry groups - with a whole bunch of decarbonisation efforts starting to get traction. Was also great to have an opportunity to speak to a whole bunch of people about the work we’re doing at Unravel Carbon The week seems very focused on businesses and the actions they can take - everything from decarbonisation and alternative energy, through to the role of carbon dioxide removals and generating transition credits for coal power closures. There’s just so much on and I really managed to get my steps in, and got to spend a whole lot of time on the subway. The challenge of course is to ensure to get to the right things. Will hopefully be back next year - and will remember to bring my basketball gear for the 3rd annual Climate Cup 😅 #decarbonisation #ghgemissions #climatechange #climaterisk
