At the Tech in Asia Conference held in Jakarta late October, our Founder & CEO Bryan Koh shared about trends in Southeast Asia's healthcare sector and how omnichannel healthcare firms like us are leading change in the industry. Key views include: 💊Digital healthcare is now a permanent core pillar of care in the region where: 💉Payers are now willing to cover telemedicine costs. 💉Healthcare providers are now comfortable to provide medical care remotely and believe in this mode of care as an efficient and safe method to treat patients. 💉Patients have also gained trust in the care they receive digitally, and see the benefits it brings them. 💊Southeast Asia is a unique market where care consumption patterns are vastly different across countries, with care consumption, insurer penetration and telehealth regulation at different stages of maturity. This presents challenges to digital care operators looking to go regional, but with the right model and partners could present significant opportunities. 💊Digital care providers that have adopted B2B models appear to be much more viable, with B2C providers that offer a specialised, highly differentiated service which users place a high value on and are willing to pay for also seeing good traction. Thankful to Tech in Asia for the opportunity, and the exchange of insights together with Sheji Ho and Collin Furtado! It’s always exciting to collaborate with companies that are as committed to their employees' well-being as they are to their core business. 🌍❤️ At the event, our healthcare professionals provided a range of services to ensure a thorough health check-up for every participant, including: 1️⃣ Physical Examinations and Vital Checks: BMI checks and blood pressure monitoring, to help employees understand key health indicators and maintain optimal health. 2️⃣ Point-of-Care Testing: On-the-spot testing for blood glucose levels, crucial for early detection of diabetes and other metabolic conditions. Early identification of such risks empowers employees to take preventive steps. 3️⃣ Personalised Doctor Consultations: Each individual had the opportunity to discuss their health status, receive tailored advice, and ask questions during private consultations with our doctors. With the recent focus on medical certificate (MC) issuance in Singapore, WhiteCoat Global's very own Dr Ming Wei Tan shares perspectives on the matter with Mediacorp Pte Ltd Channel 8's Qinkai Chua and Zhao Wen Bei on the Hello Singapore programme. These include: - Cases of abuse occur regardless of the mode of practice. - Doctors can reject patients' requests for an MC if the doctor, following a medical assessment, exercises a professional judgement that an MC is not necessary. - For prolonged conditions, WhiteCoat will refer patients to physical clinics and hospitals for more detailed checkups. We would also like to share that WhiteCoat does not condone the practice of unethical MC issuance. We have in place strong internal controls to provide safe, ethical and quality care. We have, as early as 2018, implemented the measures that the Ministry of Health (Singapore) is proposing to introduce to combat MC abuse. The Ministry has proposed for every MC issued for a patient to include the name and medical council registration (MCR) number of the issuing medical practitioner. WhiteCoat already does this, where MCs issued by doctors practising on our platform carry the name, signature and MCR number of the practitioner issuing the MC. We believe it is important for all healthcare providers to uphold ethical standards. Our robust set of internal protocols is also regularly reviewed by our medical team to ensure that we provide safe and effective care to our users that are in line with medical ethics and regulations. We believe that patients' wellbeing stands above all else. #digitalhealth #WhiteCoat https://lnkd.in/gmah_TU2

It is one day to the Emerging Enterprise 2023 Awards, and WhiteCoat is pleased to share that we are among the top 15 finalists this year! Said Bryan Koh, Founder & CEO of WhiteCoat, "In the post-Covid world, digital health plays a crucial role in markets such as South-east Asia, where healthcare access is not as readily available and doctor-to-patient ratios are low. These trends have opened up opportunities for WhiteCoat to improve the care experience. We are working with consumers to curate care journeys that start with virtual consultations, where those who truly require inpatient treatment are triaged to hospitals or clinics. "We aim to be the region’s No 1 omnichannel healthcare firm." Presented by OCBC and The Business Times, this annual award recognises emerging enterprises that demonstrate an enterprising mindset and drive consistent, significant and sustainable growth resulting in excellent business performance, and display the ability to scale and expand overseas. This year also marks the first time that the Awards have been opened to companies from the region. "My daily challenge as CFO is to keep up with the fast pace in support of the company’s ambitions to innovate and build a viable business which will go on to achieve revenue growth, and profitability," shared our Chief Financial Officer Yin Ching Loh with over 60 C-suite and senior executives recently. Ching (as she is affectionately known) also shared what it takes to be in the hot seat and the importance of investing sufficient resources to develop internal processes, which often take a back seat for startups where the focus is on growth. Thank you Acme Technology, Oracle NetSuite and PointStar Consulting for the opportunity to share the stage alongside Allen Shim (ex CFO of Slack) and Patrick K. Wong (Temus CFO) on the role of a CFO across companies in varying stages of growth! #WhiteCoat #digitalhealth
