Driving Growth: How Green Practices and Tech Fuel Long-Term Sustainability At the third session of Day 1 of the 47th AIBP Conference & Exhibition in Malaysia, Rony Ardiansyah from PT Pertamina (Persero) showcased their innovative analytics platform, INOVASI, which is helping tackle fraud and mismanagement in Indonesia's government-subsidised fuel distribution. Tuhiman Mazlan from Innovation Associates Consulting (IAC) and S Saravanan Subramaniam from Neptune Software showcased their partnership in providing sustainable digital solutions. IAC highlighted their e-government work in Malaysia, while Neptune focused on their low-code platform for SAP systems, helping businesses fast-track digital transformation with future-proof applications. In the Panel Session Digital Approaches for Sustainable Growth, moderator Wee Choong HEW, Cyclone Robotics discussed the topic with Saravanan Desigamanie, KPJ Healthcare Bhd; Anuar Nabi, Pos Malaysia Berhad; and Ts. Nurul Haszeli, SIRIM Berhad. The panelists shared insights on implementing green practices, measuring sustainable growth, and leveraging data and technology for smarter decision-making. Starting the session was Rakesh Nandakumar from Kissflow, who shared how citizen development empowers business users to create and manage internal processes, helping organisations bridge the developer gap and streamline operations. Next, Budiman Bujang from Johor Corporation, who introduced the RITE Framework, which drives innovation through #AI, #automation, and #analytics. The discussion emphasized the agile approach to excellence, focusing on aligning tech with business needs, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and implementing leadership-driven innovation strategies. In our first session we heard from industry leaders paving the way in Data & AI in Malaysia. Datin Datin Ts. Habsah Nordin (CDMP, CSFC) from PETRONAS shared how they’re leveraging AI for innovation, from cognitive search to integrity checks. She debunked AI myths, highlighting its role in complementing jobs, not replacing them, and emphasised responsible AI practices, ethical principles, and the importance of upskilling. Our Panel Discussion: Gaining an Edge with AI in Malaysia’s Digital Transformation was moderated by Sue Yuin Ho of AIBP, and featured Yew Choong Chew from AmBank Group; Hoo Ling Lee from KPJ Healthcare Bhd and Datuk Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan from Tenaga Nasional Berhad. This engaging panel discussion highlighted how AI is transforming operations across sectors. From healthcare innovations like AI-assisted screenings for diabetic retinopathy to operational efficiency gains in finance and energy sectors, the conversation focused on AI's potential to enhance customer experiences and boost competitiveness. Panelists also stressed the importance of ethical considerations, data governance, and the continuous upskilling of employees to keep pace with AI advancements.
