🚀 Elevating Food Safety Together! 🚀   We’re thrilled to announce the success of our recent HACCP workshop, hosted at the Tee Yih Jia Food Hub, where a dynamic mix of start-ups from Innovate360 and the Republic Polytechnic Agri-Food Tech Incubation Programme came together to enhance their food safety knowledge. It was an incredible day of learning, collaboration, and innovation, all aimed at strengthening food safety practices in our industry.   A special thank you to Ong Ru Yan, Executive Auditor at TÜV SÜD, whose expertise and practical insights were the highlight of the day. Your guidance helped our participants have a deeper understanding of HACCP protocols and their application in real-world scenarios.   This workshop was more than just a training session—it was a powerful reminder of the importance of food safety in every aspect of our work. I am happy to share that the Japan Association for Cellular Agriculture (JACA) 細胞農業研究機構's comprehensive report on International Trends in the Safety and Regulatory Assessment of Cultivated Food is now available! https://lnkd.in/gi7QQ9ge I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the support from startups that contributed to sharing insights into their safety information and measures for cultivated food, as well as Jo Anne Shatkin and Kimberly Ong from Vireo Advisors, LLC, our knowledgeable partner to combine a variety of information into a consistent safety policy. As the next step, we are preparing an Opinion Paper interpreting the global safety trend of cultivated food, "International Trends in the Safety and Regulatory Assessment of Cultivated Food," under Japanese regulations. I hope our activity can be a successful case study to harmonize and/or optimize the global trend on safety discussions for cultivated food under a certain country's regulations and practices. Food Safety experts from around the world! Comments for improvements are welcomed! We are looking for academic panels to yearly update our report "International Trends in the Safety and Regulatory Assessment of Cultivated Food" as well as the Opinion Paper that JACA is currently working on.

This approval opens new horizons for food companies, enabling them to introduce innovative dishes and products that harness the nutritional benefits of insects. Insects, known for being rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals, offer a sustainable alternative to traditional livestock, requiring fewer resources and generating a lower environmental impact. This progressive move supports global efforts to enhance food security and sustainability. The approval is expected to spur exciting culinary innovations and broaden the scope of alternative protein sources available to consumers, such as cricket-infused protein bars and silkworm powder by our start-ups Altimate Nutrition and Morus Inc., respectively.
