🎮 As a passionate gamer, it’s been a blast opening gamescom asia for the past 4 years and seeing it grow! 🙌🏼 🌐 Gaming is about both the virtual and real worlds, and about avatars and people. As an entertainment and gaming hub, SG is climbing the leaderboards. We host many top tier events, including our first-ever Olympic e-sports week last year, BLAST PREMIER Counter Strike 2 World Finals this year, and DOTA 2 next year. These real and virtual worlds spawn good jobs for our people. Whether you’re designing immersive worlds 🎨, coding epic adventures 💻, or competing as an e-sports pro 🕹, there’s a place for everyone. 💡 Gaming also builds resilience, creativity, and teamwork. For some, it’s a path to discovering their purpose, and even their community. 🎯 🔥 I’m thrilled to witness Capcom’s massive presence here, including their exclusive Monster Hunter Wilds debut for Southeast Asia and the CAPCOM Pro Tour 2024 SUPER PREMIER. Local companies like 4Divinity are also making waves, having secured regional publishing rights to the classic ‘Kong’ franchise - another example of Singapore’s growing influence in the gaming space. As ever, I was so excited to visit many homegrown game developers and see their amazing work. 💪🏼 The government will continue to support Singapore’s thriving gaming ecosystem, together with the Singapore Tourism Board. A big shoutout to Singapore Games Association (SGGA) for leading the charge in fostering partnerships with regional gaming organisations and working with local players to drive innovation in gaming. 🤝🎮 🚀 Thanks to Koelnmesse GmbH for trusting Singapore to host gamescom asia year after year.
