Last Wednesday, our offices around the world came together and set aside our schedules for Global Safety Day, one of the most important days in our Anglo American calendar. This year’s theme – Stand Up for Safety, Together – highlights our collective commitment to making safety a way of life. Through reflections from our colleagues in this video, we see what safety means to each of them and how they contribute to our shared commitment of safety. Our safety culture is strengthened when each of us takes ownership, ensuring that everyone returns home safely, every day. Safety is more than a priority at Anglo American – it is a core value. Together, let's place safety at the heart of everything we do. #GlobalSafetyDay #LifeAtAngloAmerican

Today at Anglo American is Global Safety Day. The theme for this year’s GSD is ‘stand up for safety, together’. Throughout today, across the globe we will demonstrate how we are standing up for safety, together with your teams, contractor colleagues, suppliers and visitors, and putting safety at the heart of everything you do. But our safety journey does not finish with GSD. We must keep safety at the forefront of our minds. We must take care of ourselves, our colleagues and our loved ones. The health, safety and well being of our employees and partners is paramount to everything we do at Anglo American. And we do this together. Hence the theme for this year’s Global Safety Day has been “Stand Up for Safety Together”. A culture of success whether it be a work team, a sporting team, a project group or a large organization only works when it is achieved together. We have individual responsibility sure, BUT our strength as a business and our strength in keeping people safe only comes from the collective – Standing up for what we believe TOGETHER. Thanks to the organizing team in Singapore & Shanghai for such a well organized and impactful event. Singapore - Anglo American

ICA is on the ground in London! Ahead of the London Metal Exchange Week, ICA co-hosted an exclusive event with longstanding member Anglo American to discuss transparency and sustainability throughout the copper value chain, with additional insights from ICA Vice Presidents Dr. Louise Assem and Richard Xu on copper demand trends and opportunities. “Shaping a sustainable future for the copper industry requires producers like Anglo American to not only look at how metals are mined, but increasingly, how these metals reach the customers and are used further downstream in the value chain,” Paul W. – Executive Head of Marketing Base Metals at Anglo American. Integration and coordination of the value chain, along with third party verification from responsible production assurance frameworks like the The Copper Mark, provide manufacturers and consumers with clear and reliable information on environmental impact and responsible working conditions. While there is enough copper in the Earth, we will need an “all of the above” approach to meet demand responsibly. Policies supporting mining, refining and recycling, along with partnership between industry, decisionmakers and local communities is crucial for bringing this critical material to the world to enable a sustainable future. “ICA members not only produce more copper but also better copper. We need to proudly tell the copper story of enabling the future of human development and supporting technology, local communities and global society.” - ICA President and CEO Juan Ignacio Diaz Special thanks to moderator Katie Fergusson and our expert panel for your insights on challenges facing the copper industry: Vicky Bowman – Institute for Human Rights and Business Andrea Vaccari – Freeport-McMoRan Adam Estelle – Copper Development Association Inc. At Anglo American, we recognise the immense contribution of seafarers to global trade and our operations. Every day, they navigate the oceans, connecting our customers with the resources they need in a safe, efficient, and sustainable manner. For us, safety isn't just a priority – it’s a value we live by. We believe that no one should get hurt in the process of moving our products. Today on #WorldMaritimeDay, we want to honor the seafarers who play a crucial role in keeping our supply chains moving. This year’s theme, “Navigating the Future: Safety First!”, is a call to action that aligns with our values. Through continuous improvement in safety practices, innovations, and partnerships, we are committed to ensuring that all our partners and crew return home safely, every time.

At Anglo American, our approach to responsible mining is rooted in an ethical value chain supported by the right policies. This was the message shared by Anesan Naidoo, Head of Sustainability, during his keynote speech titled "Enabling our Future Through Responsible Mining" at the Future of Mining 2024 event this week. Key highlights he shared from our decarbonisation efforts, ethical practices, and transparency to our customers include the launch of our LNG dual-fuelled Ubuntu fleet, our IRMA certifications, as well as our Valutrax™ digital traceability system that provides customers with greater assurance about the provenance of the products they purchase. Through these initiatives, we are constantly striving to raise the bar for responsible mining practices, not only to benefit our business but also to contribute positively towards sustainability and ethical sourcing. #decarbonisation #sustainability
