Igor Akrapovič, po duši motociklistični dirkač, je iz hobija zgradil izjemno poslovno zgodbo. Verjetno ni Slovenca, ki ne bi poznal blagovne znamke Akrapovič, ki se pogosto omenja po vsem svetu. Že leta 2004 mu je bil podeljen naziv podjetnik leta, leto kasneje pa še osebnost leta. Kako zelo cenjen je, kaže tudi Puhova nagrada za življenjsko delo, najvišje priznanje, ki ga je v Sloveniji mogoče dobiti za izjemne dosežke v znanstvenoraziskovalni in razvojni dejavnosti.
