We hosting nine visitors at our Fire Laboratory in Logatec. The group included three colleagues from ÉMI Nonprofit Kft. alongside a team of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection designers from Hungary. The visit began with a tour of our laboratory, where we showcased its operation and capabilities while engaging in a Q&A session. Our guests explored the processes behind our testing and research, gaining valuable insights into our work in fire safety. In the afternoon, the visiting design team presented their ongoing project concepts and designs. Fire safety of flat roofs with PV modules - how should we test to ensure fire safety? In the FRISSBE department at ZAG - Zavod za gradbeništvo Slovenije, we have carried out a lot of tests with PV modules on flat (and slightly inclined) roofs over the past years. ZAG Test Method for PV system fire testing: 🔥 The ignition should take place underneath the panels 🏢 The entire system performance must be assessed ☀️ The roof is assessed to a larger extent than the panels 🔥 A wood crib provides a natural fire development 🔢 We have tested a large variety of combinations using different panel types, membrane types and insulation types to ensure that the method can provide robust results.
