The Green Living Areas Mission aims to improve the lives of Mediterranean citizens by promoting the development of green living areas. As part of the Interreg Euro-Med Programme, the Mission undertakes projects that bring local communities to life with green development at their epicentre, reducing negative climate impacts on the region’s ecosystems, and enhancing climate resilience The Mission is jointly managed by two key projects working on two different aspects: • The Thematic Community project (C4LA) aims to build a community among thematic projects and facilitate resource transfers to stakeholders, focusing on technical and strategic content. • The Institutional Dialogue project (D4LA) aims to amplify the transfer of policies by fostering dialogue among policymakers and their stakeholders, focusing on continuous policy improvement and transformation. INFIRE, GARDEN and CO2PACMAN met in Zagreb! 👋 On the 3rd and 4th October 2024, the INFIRE project partners gathered in Zagreb, Croatia, to officially meet in person for the first time. Hosted by North-West Croatia Regional Energy Agency (REGEA), the event’s aim was to discuss about workplan and next activities of the INFIRE project as well as to find synergies and common actions between the Community’s 3 projects, all dedicated to promoting #GreenLivingAreas in the Mediterranean. Project partners identified a lot of possible synergies, but the most important collaboration is together organization of the trainings and Joint national events. #GreenLivingAreas #News! 🗞️ On 11 June 2024, the Community4LivingAreas Project, of the Interreg Euro-MED Green Living Areas Mission, held the workshop “Enabling the green transition in local communities”, organised and hosted by Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association - EMEA. The workshop was part of a visit of students from Rice University School of Architecture in Houston. The students were accompanied by Juan José Castellón, Assistant Professor of Architecture at Rice University. EMEA Senior Project Officer Joanna Grodzka presented the #GreenLivingAreas project and its impact in the Mediterranean region as part of a discussion with Marc Montlleó, Barcelona Regional Agency Director of Environment, Energy, and Data, as he explained the actions and changes implemented by the City of Barcelona to accelerate the #greentransition and improve the city’s livability. 🌱“CO2 PACMAN, decarbonizing the Mediterranean islands" is the podcast in which uRadio and the University of Siena drive you on the journey, to discover co-creation scenarios for the transition towards climate-neutral Mediterranean islands. https://lnkd.in/ddssbpts 🇪🇺 CO2 Pacman is an European project, financed by the Interreg Euro Med programme, which aims to decarbonise the Mediterranean islands. The kick off meeting of the project was hosted by the city of Siena last March, during this three days event the ten partners from seven European countries involved in the project activities met each other for the first time.
