Having the post-summer blues? In our latest newsletter, we were exploring how to motivate #engineers (and ourselves) in this cold and rainy September. This is what we came up with: 🧩 Challenges: Solving puzzles makes their job fun for them. So don’t be afraid to set them up with a difficult task. Just make sure they have someone to mentor them through it if they need it. 📈 Growth: Learning and trying out new stuff we’re interested in is motivation for most of us. And in the #tech field, it’s even more important to keep up with the progress. So set up an environment that encourages just that. 🖌️ Creativity: Letting engineers come up with outside the box solutions and listening to their ideas instead of shutting them down immediately will boost their confidence and motivation. Just make sure they have an environment to test in first, before launching to #production. 💪🏻 Teamwork: Having your work buddies to brainstorm, support, and tackle challenges with is priceless. When you create a space where everyone feels respected, safe, and listened to, and encourage collaboration and communication, the relationships inside the team will show that. 🧡 Positive impact: Everybody likes to feel they are doing something good. So show them the bigger picture and make sure they know how they are contributing to it. What motivates you?

We've talked loads about the #subscriptionmanagement for #digitalproducts already. It was about time somebody else got the floor too. Vid Pajek from Loftware talked to us about the challenges from his #productmanagement point of view. Check out what he had to say.

"52 tabs open, and your head is spinning. The options seem limitless, but each one is a risk." We know it can be quite daunting to make such an impactful decision as picking an outsourced partner for your digital product development. So we've gathered some thoughts on what you should consider when choosing. You can find the blog here: https://lnkd.in/d76KUetd #softwaredevelopment #softwareegineering #digitalproducts

"I'll be back," she said when a bunch of worried-looking teammates wished her a nice holiday and waved her goodbye. Amedea Derenda decided to take a whole month off this summer. While we missed her incredibly, we know how important it is to support our team members when they need some time for themselves 🌻 But we are sooo happy she's back. Employee-of-the-month-level happy, in fact! 🐐🐐🐐 *Employee of the Month is not an official Kaldi title. It is awarded by a self-appointed committee with zero proper credentials. Apparently, you don't even need to actually work to earn it.

A fresh cup of coffee is looking to support an enthusiastic #frontend engineer in their #vue or #react endeavours. Want to apply? Along with the coffee, you also get a team of goats, a bunch of versatile projects, and lots of room for growth. You can find a more conventional and detailed #job description here: https://lnkd.in/dYHN_8Th

Oh, we're so sorry we're late. We know, we know, it's almost the end of the month. We should have posted this already. But you see, we were on the way. But then we had a flat tire, and nobody knew what to do 😬 Luckily, Žiga Mrzlikar was there to help us out. He even gave us a whole course on basic car maintenance and repairs! So that's how he earned the employee of the month title. Thank you, Žiga, and congratz. 🐐🐐🐐 *Employee of the Month is not an official Kaldi title. It comes with no financial rewards and is not grounds for promotion.

There will be cake! Wait, no, croissants. There will be croissants. Or are they... a lie? We have an open position for a #backend engineer familiar with #java or #nodejs. Apply and find out. You can find more about the job here: https://kaldi.si/jobs #softwaredevelopment #softwareengineering #programming P.S.: Please tell me you got the cake reference? Anyone? 😅

Why choose us? We think it's way better if you hear it from our clients 😊 Thank you, Edgar Thoemmes, for your trust and cooperation.

Check out the new podcast episode from our friends at Ogrodje, where they talk to Gunnar Morling about his #java #programming challenge of processing one billion data. They discuss how to do it, what to do it with, but they definitely don't ask why do it in the first place. We all know what happens, when you start asking "why" too much.
Gunnar Morling from Decodable has designed and led one of the most exciting programming puzzles in recent history: The One Billion Row Challenge, or 1RRBC. He challenged top software engineers to process a file with billions of temperature measurements. Join us as we embark on our journey from half an hour to minutes and then seconds. ☁️☕️☁️ w/ Andraz Brodnik && Oto Brglez
