At the workshop in Ljutomer, led by The Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (UIRS) as part of the NXTLVL Parking project, we discussed the renovation of main square (Glavni trg). Participants expressed a desire for a more "green" square, with additional trees for shade and quality maintenance of green areas. Concerns were raised about inadequate accessibility for people with disabilities, overheating of the square, and a lack of parking spaces. The discussion brought forth proposals to limit traffic and parking in the square and to create a more cohesive and harmonious city image. The NXTLVL Parking project aims to promote sustainable mobility and more livable urban environments. #NXTLVL #SustainableMobility #SquareRenovation

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting exhibitions in Razkrižje, Ljutomer, Veržej, and Križevci! These events were a fantastic opportunity to present the vision and key challenges for traffic in the municipalities. The exhibitions showcased the vision, the process behind its creation, conclusions from the public survey on the state of traffic and suggestions for future improvements across different areas of transport. V zadnjih letih vse pogosteje slišimo izraz "vročinski val". Pogosto gre za opozorila v medijih, ki nas opominjajo, kako se pripraviti. A kaj natančno pomeni vročinski val? Na splošno velja, da govorimo o vročinskem valu, ko imamo tri vroče dni (nad 30°C) in tri tropske noči (nad 20°C) zapored. Podnebne spremembe napovedujejo več vročinskih valov z višjimi temperaturami. Ti imajo lahko resne zdravstvene posledice, kot so pregrevanje telesa, dehidracija, znižan krvni tlak, omotica, slabost in povečan srčni utrip. Najbolj so ogroženi starejši, otroci in ljudje s srčno-žilnimi boleznimi. Kaj lahko storimo sami? Priporoča se pitje hladnih tekočin, izogibanje težki vadbi, ohlajanje telesa z mlačno vodo ter hlajenje ključnih točk na telesu z ledom ali hladno vodo. Na ravni skupnosti pa partnerji projekta #Ready4Heat, med njimi Razvojna agencija Sinergija, Center za zdravje in razvoj Murska Sobota ter Mestna občina Maribor, razvijajo akcijske načrte za zaščito zdravja prebivalcev. Ukrepi vključujejo pravočasna opozorila, povečanje zelenih površin, dostopnost hladne vode in pripravo zdravstvenih ter socialnih organizacij za pomoč najranljivejšim. Vročinski valovi so dejstvo. Pomembno je, da kot skupnost in posamezniki storimo vse, kar je v naši moči, da se zaščitimo pred njihovimi posledicami. Priloženih je nekaj idej, kako si sami lahko pomagate v času vročinskega vala. #PripravljeniNaVročino #SkupnostnaZaščita #Ready4Heat #INTERREGCentralEurope
