It is worth noting that on the same day the Lithuanian Law on Cybersecurity amendments for NIS2 requirements came into effect, the Lithuanian Law on Public Procurement was also amended. Contracting authorities operating in sectors critical to national security or classified as essential entities under the Law on Cybersecurity, must ensure that the goods, services, or works offered by suppliers do not pose a threat to national security. Therefore, if your client is an essential entity and you wish to participate in their public procurements, the requirements for your company and your products and services will also be more stringent. The enactment of legislative changes to implement the NIS 2 Directive compells many companies to reassess both their technical and procedural security measures. Amidst these developments, the less visible effects of the NIS 2 implementation have gone unnoticed. One significant yet underappreciated impact is on foreign investment. Investments in key cybersecurity entities must comply with procedures set in the ‘Law on the Protection of Objects‘  which are Important to the National Security of the Republic of Lithuania. Swiss businesses can finally enjoy greater legal certainty when posting third-country nationals to Lithuania. 🇨🇭 ➡️ 🇱🇹   A recent amendment to Lithuania’s Law on the Legal Status of Foreigners has simplified the process, resolving a long-standing issue with social security certification for third-country nationals.
