Skeletal Family - Disinterred - Live- Leeds Cockpit Friday December 05, 2002.

Formed in 1982 in Keighley, West Yorkshire Skeletal Family took their name from "Chant of the Ever-Circling Skeletal Family" from the 1974 David Bowie album Diamond Dogs.

From early days at Bradford University Anne-Marie, Stan, Trotwood &
drummer Howard Daniels soon caught the attention of the notable Radio DJ John Peel, with their single "Trees / Just A Friend". As was habitual with Peel's support the single was boosted into the independent charts.

The band soon signed to independent Red Rhino, releasing their first album "Burning Oil" in 1984, heading out on tour with Sisters of Mercy on their Autumn Black October Tour after being personally requested as support by front Andrew Eldridge.

A series of high profile support slots at places as esteemed as the Marquee Club would follow along with the release of the second album, "Futile Land" which featured the band's most celebrated single 'Promised Land'.

Having moved to Chrysalis Records and with a host of line-up changes throughout the bands twenty-four year history, but they are still going to the present day touring around the UK, USA, South America and Europe, playing all the main Goth festivals.

40 years ago I found them or they found me. Since their music caught me more and more: It's the sound, the atmosphere, their uniqueness. Many unforgettable songs here: Belief, Heaven is Waiting, Hide, Hold on, Red Light, Somewhere, The Hurt (and I love the Album VI), but my favourite is Clock. Wonder what Steve R. is doing...
