Today marks World Day for Decent Work and everyone deserves to work in a productive place that delivers a fair income and security in the workplace that promotes the mental well-being of the employee. In a keynote speech I delivered at the event while speaking on behalf of KIMS Microfinance and the private sector, I shared insights involving how KIMS is drastically fighting unemployment and promoting the Goal 8 of the 2030 agenda. The event which took place in #Mogadishu is orchestrated by the #Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs FGS. Senior Gov’t officials including ministries, DG’s, MPs, and prominent private sector members were in attendance at this significant day. KIMS has provided for the first time financial access to over 44k people living across Somalia. This year’s theme was unlocking Somalia’s nascent financial frontier. This interactive 1-day session covered key themes regarding credit lending cycles and the general requirements for accessing loans from KIMS Microfinance. In his opening remarks, State Minister of labor and Social Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia His Excellency Yusuf Mohamed Adam applauded our unwavering and wider fights towards unemployment and poverty.
