Adan Mohamud, a farmer from Bulokaloc in #Dollow, recently used the MDALAG platform’s tractor matching service to prepare his fields—saving valuable time and improving his productivity. This is just one example of how #MDALAG, under the EU #Riverine project, is empowering farmers across parts of #Somalia with innovative digital tools. From providing real-time market information, crop disease reporting, and much more, MDALAG is revolutionizing #farming in Somalia. The Somali Resilience Program (SomReP) participated in the First International Conference On Agri-value Chain Investment, in partnership with the Federal Government of Somalia and the European Union. We helped to mobilize the private sector to come to Somalia who are interested in buying sesame (which has some of the best quality in the world). We showcased how we are using technology, like M-DALAG to provide farmers with market information and connect them with input suppliers, connect with buyers, report on crop diseases, and connect with tractor services. We previewed virtual reality field visits, giving people a virtual tour of our projects around the country. We were honoured to have had the interest of the President of Somalia, Hon. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia, Hon. Salah Ahmed Jama, the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Hon. Minister Mohamed Abdi Hayir (Maareeye) the Ambassador of the European Union, Hon. Karin Johansson, and the Ambassador from Sweden, Hon.
