Reigning Olympic and World Champion Neeraj Chopra returns to action in fine fashion. The 26-year-old, who opened his season at Doha Diamond League with 88.36m before winning gold at Federation Cup with 82.27m, was forced to skip the event in Ostrava due to an adductor issue.
However, the Indian performed well today and took the gold with 85.97m.
Silver and bronze medals both go to local athletes - Toni Keränen (84.19m) and Oliver Helander (83.96m).

Former world champion Peters comes up with an underwhelming throw of 76.97m.
Helander fouls while Keränen decides to skip this attempt.
Neeraj, clearly not happy with his throw, decides to intentionally commit a foul.

Reigning Olympic and World Champion Neeraj Chopra returns to action for the first time since last month’s Federation Cup in Bhubaneswar. He was forced to pull out of the Ostrava Golden Spike 2024 as precautionary measure, following an issue with his adductor muscle.
The 26-year-old Indian had won a silver in the 2022 edition of the Paavo Nurmi Games with a throw of 89.30m but pulled out of the event in 2023 as he was recovering from an injury.
This will be Neeraj’s third outing of 2024, after the the Doha Diamond League and the Federation Cup.
