Take a look at the major talking points from the match:

GERMANY BREAKS ITS OWN RECORD FOR MOST GOALS IN THE GROUP STAGE

With 7 goals, Germany has already broken its highest-scoring Euro group stage in tournament history, beating its tally from Euro 2020 (Six in three games).

ILKAY GUNDOGAN MAKES IT TWO

German Captain Ilkay Gundogan doubled his side’s lead in the 67th minute after finishing Maximilian Mittelstadt’s cross into the bottom right corner.

HUNGARY’S GOAL RULED OUT JUST BEFORE HALFTIME

In the second minute of added time for the first half, Hungary captain Dominik Szboszlai whipped in a free-kick into the box for Willi Orban whose header was saved by Neuer.

The ball falls to Roland Sallai who fired it into the net with his head. However, the goal was ruled out after checks confirmed that Orban was offside while taking the first shot.

MUSIALA SCORES TO TAKE THE LEAD

Jamal Musiala scored his second goal of the tournament after Hungary made a mess at the back. Ilkay Gundogan wrestled the ball away from centre-back Willi Orbán who failed to clear it away. The German captain cut the ball back to Musiala who had the easiest of finishes.

MANUEL NEUER MAKES HISTORY

This is Manuel Neuer’s 17th appearance at the UEFA European Championship, the joint-most among goalkeepers in the history of the competition (level with Gianluigi Buffon).

He made a crucial save fifteen seconds after kick off to keep Hungary from taking the lead.
