NorthEast United vs Kerala Blasters Highlights, ISL 2024-25: NEUFC 1-1 KBFC; Noah equalises fter Ajaraie’s strike, Asheer gets red

Zabaco with a goal saving challenge denies Aimen, who was through on goal after rounding off Gurmeet.

Luna plays a delightful ball for Noah but NEUFC defence was alert and gets a goal kick. 

Asheer Akhtar gets a direct red for a reckless sliding challenge on Noah.

Peprah almost finds Noah inside the box to give KBFc the lead. It could have been a tap in by Noah but Peprah’s ball a fractionally wide. 

On the other end, NEUFC gets a corner. 

Both players are patched up and ready up continue. 

A clash of heads, a freak accident between Ajaraie and Noah. Both goalscorers are down injured. The referee blows the whistle to bring the play to a halt.

Guillermo scores from a free-kick with a glancing header but the referee’s assistant raises the flag. A big let-off for KBFC. 

The visitors have a spring in their steps now after the equaliser. Aimen tries his luck from deep but fails to hit the target. 

Noah delivers a spectacular equaliser for the Tuskers, curling a powerful left-footed shot from outside the box into the bottom corner. The Moroccan winger, displaying a burst of pace, cuts in from the right flank and unleashes an unstoppable strike.

KBFC wins a corner and Farooq squanders a clear opportunity. Vibin with a brilliant ball which finds the unmarked midfielder just outside the six yard box. 

Clash of heads between Ajaraie and Sandeep Singh. The referee stops the match. 

Fortunately, both players are okay to continue after receiving treatment.

Ajaraie’s powerful free-kick deceived KBFC goalkeeper Sachin Suresh, who was caught off guard and allowed the ball to pass through his legs. NorthEast United took the lead, with Ajaraie scoring his third goal in as many matches. The blunder from KBFC’s custodian proved costly.

Rahul pulls the trigger from over 30 yards but fails to keep it down. 

Jithin with a brilliant ball control and turns on the edge of the box and draws KBFC defenders and wins a free-kick. 

The Tuskers are showing more urgency. 

Peprah is shown yellow card by the referee for a wayward challenge on Ali Bemammer. 

Rahul is denied by Gurmeet. What a brilliant save and then the NEUFC defence puts it out for a corner. 

The second half begins. NEUFC comes out of the box fast and goes on an attack and wins a corner. 

The first 45 minutes comes to end. It has been a brilliant first half in Guwahati. Chances for both sides. 

Two minutes added on after the end of 45 minutes. 

Jithin’s volley goes agonisingly over the bar. A brilliant chance for NEUFC to take the lead just before the break. 

Both teams are looking for first blood. It has been a brilliant first half so far with both teams going at each other. 

Coeff gets into the referee’s book for pulling down Ajaraie near the half way line. 

NEUFC getting closer and closer. Guillermo this time provides a brilliant pass for Ajaraie, who tests Sachin yet again. Another corner for the Highlanders. 

Mayakkannan squanders yet another good chance from six yards. 

Guillermo misses a golden chance. Jithin after a brilliant run puts it on a plate for Guillermo, whose shot is saved by Sachin but the referee calls for goal kick. 

Match resumes after drinks break. 

The referee calls for drinks break at 30 minutes mark. 

End to end stuff from both teams. Noah and Ajaraie are dazzling for Kerala Blasters and NorthEast United, respectively. 

Corner for NEUFC. 

Farooq and Jimenez links up on the edge of the box and plays a ball for Noah, who takes a shoot which goes wide of the target. A big let-off for NEUFC defence. You cannot give so much space to Noah near the box. 

KBFC left-back Naocha gets inside the box after a brilliant run but fails to keep his shot on target. 

Ajaraie causing all sorts of problems for the KBFC defence. The Tuskers are looking for counter attacking opportunities at the moment.

Ajaraie drops the shoulder and dribbles past two KBFC defenders and shoots from deep. The ball takes a deflection and it is another corner for NEUFC. 

Guillermo’s header from the resulting corner lacked power. 

Noah makes a blistering run from the left flank and dribbles past the defender and cuts it back for Farooq, who yet again made a telling run but fails to make contact. The visitors are looking dangerous. 

Danish Farooq makes a run in behind from the midfield and gets the first corner of the night for KBFC. 

Jimenez tries to get to the end of Noah’s delivery but fails to keep it on target. 

Samte earns NEUFC another corner but Phalguni’s delivery is overcooked. 

It has been a lively start to the match. Both sides are looking for their wingers to stretch each others defence. 

The Highlanders gets the first corner of the match but fails to take advantage of it.

On the other hand, Blasters are just above the Durand Cup 2024 winners with three points from two matches. It will play its first away match of this season in Guwahati after winning the last match by netting a goal in the dying minutes of the match against East Bengal.
