What a nerve-wracking game that was! UP Yoddha wins the game off the very last raid as Surender Gill's took the side to a 36-35 win over three-time champion Patna Pirates. Pardeep Narwal, expectedly, was the star for UP Yoddha as he scored 12 points and brought up his 60th Super Raid. Sachin Tanwar impressed for Patna Pirates as he picked up 10 points and was well supported by skipper Prashanth Rai who pocketed eight points. Patna Pirates' Iranian import Mohammadreza Chiyaneh also gave glimpses of his defensive prowess as he claimed a High 5. However, that went in a losing cause as UP Yoddha secured its first win of the season.

35-36 That is absolutely ingenious from Surender Gill! He heads into the last raid and knows a mere bonus point will seal the deal. The Patna Pirates defence though, strangely, doesn't seem to factor that in! They tackle Surender but not before he picks up the match-winning point!
34-35 Sachin dashes across the court and swears he's got a touch on Surender. But the umpires think otherwise, no points awarded!
34-35 Sachin gets a raid point and reduces Patna Pirates' deficit to a sole point.
33-35 Pardeep has been absolutely outfoxed there. The Patna Pirates defence comes together as a whole and offers him no escape route.
32-35 Prashanth Kumar Rai with a moment of brilliance as he wriggles out of an ankle hold. We have exactly two minutes to go!
31-35 Sajin got Pardeep the last time around and Pardeep returns the favour this time around with a classy running hand touch.
30-34 Surender Nada gets rid of the main man Monu Goyat! Monu hastily ventures into a tackle and pays the price.
30-33 That's a quick raid and Prashanth gets a touch on Nitesh with a Scorpion kick.
29-33 Monu joins Pardeep on the other end of the bench as he gets floored by Sumit.
29-32 Pardeep has to go back to the sidelines as he's been eliminated courtesy of a ruthless tackle from Sajin.
"The game is in our hands Pardeep. Don't let this slip," says UP Yoddha coach Jasveer Singh.

28-31 Successful raid for Rohit Tomar as he bags a bonus point. I don't think Patna Pirates coach Ram Meher Singh will be too happy about that.
27-30 Coach Ram Meher Singh says do not let Pardeep bag the bonus and Monu does just that! Pardeep tries a toe touch and Monu traps him with an ankle hold.
Patna Pirates coach Ram Meher Singh says,"What are you doing? Why are you letting of the bonus points? Stay tight and don't let them get the bonus points!"

26-29ALL OUT! UP Yoddha has opened up a three-point lead here by inflicting a super important All Out.
24-26 Pardeep has only Chiyaneh and Shubham to beat and gets rid of the Iranian. Pardeep has picked up a Super 10 and Patna Pirates are down to one man!
24-25 Neeraj Kumar steps off bounds and UP Yoddha have been gifted an easy point!
24-24 It's a do-or-die raid and Guman needs to bag a point but instead earns a ticket to the bench. He runs into a wall of bodies as Nitesh executes a perfect ankle hold.
24-23 Pardeep is Super Tackle(d) once again! Chiyaneh blocks Pardeep with an upper body block and Sajin takes care of Pardeep's legs as they send him back to the bench.
22-21 SUPER TACKLE FOR UP YODDHA! The three-man defence comes good to usher Sachin off bounds. End to end action here!
Pardeep thinks he's got a bonus point here. He attempted for the bonus twice and has asked for a review. Nope, no luck there for the Dubki King. UP Yoddha loses its referral.
22-19 SUPER TACKLE! The UP Yoddha defence finally comes to life as Guman Singh is send tumbling off the mat.
21-17 Chiyaneh just about gets away with that one! His tackle isn't the best but is just enough to get rid of Rohit Tomar. The Iranian brings up a High 5.
20-17 Three empty raids to begin the second half.
Pardeep was off the mat for close to ten minutes so far! If that isn't worrying for UP Yoddha, I don't know what is.
Patna Pirates' Sachin Tanwar has been the best player of the opening half, and that's saying something considering Pardeep and Monu are playing too. The youngster has contributed in defence as well as raiding, picking up four points in either department, to ensure Patna Pirates remain ahead. The former Gujarat Giants raider was part of two monstrous Super Tackles that paved the way for Patna Pirates to cruise ahead.
20-17 An intense opening half ends with Patna Pirates holding on to a three-point lead.
Chiyaneh was the most expensive foreign buy at this year's player auction and he's showing us why!
19-16 Chiyaneh at it once again as he traps Shrikant this time around. Chiyaneh
18-16 SUPER TACKLE x3! That's three Super Tackles in less than five minutes for Patna Pirates as Chiyaneh locks Pardeep in a thigh hold and yanks him away from the mid line. That's a huge tackle and the Iranian loves it!
16-16 Sachin Tanwar's hot streak comes to an end as he's undone by an ankle hold from Sumit.
16-15 SUPER TACKLE AGAIN! Surender Gill has No Way Home (Spiderman reference, hehe) as the Patna Pirates defence slams him to the mat. The Pirates are leading for the first time today.
14-15 SUPER TACKLE! Sachin proves his mettle yet again as he wrestles Pardeep to the mat and earns his side two invaluable points. Sachin's traditionally a raider, mind you. He's already got four tackle points to his name!
11-15 Pardeep makes this look so easy! He picks up his eighth point and Patna Pirates is down to two men.
10-12 SUPER TACKLE! Sachin Tanwar does extremely well with a stunning ankle hold and the Patna Pirates defence comes good to trap Pardeep. Sachin got his tackle wrong the last time, but was on point this time around.
7-12 Pardeep gets the better of Chiyaneh this time around. He gets him with a running hand touch and the Iranian will have to warm the bench for a bit.
7-11 Sachin has made a massive impact here. He got three points off his previous raid and bags another one now to give UP Yoddha a four-point lead.
6-8 That was almost too easy for the UP Yoddha defence. Ashu Singh reads Monu's movements really well and launches into a strong ankle tackle.
6-7 Chiyaneh joins the party as he traps Pardeep with a double thigh hold. That's a first successful tackle on Pardeep in six raids.
5-7 Prashanth bags a crucial point to reduce the deficit to two points.
3-7 WOW, how did he get out of that? Sajin seems to have gotten the better of Pardeep with a dash but Pardeep shows excellent awareness and flexibility to get one leg over the mid-line.
3-6 Monu gets his first point of the evening with a simple running hand touch.
It's quite bizarre that the Patna Pirates raiders are attempting tackles on Pardeep while the defence just watches on.
2-6 Pardeep is on a point-scoring streak here! He eliminates another raider as Sachin makes a meek tackle and gets sent back to the bench.
1-5 HUGE FROM PARDEEP! He wriggles out of Monu's ankle hold and also gets rid of Sajin.
1-3 Prashanth Rai, the Patna Pirates captain, gets a touch on his rival captain Nitesh Kumar on the right corner.
0-3 Two bonus points in as many raids for Pardeep.
0-2 Neat tackle from Sachin, he grabs on to Sachin's ankle and won't let go!
0-1 Pardeep opens his tally for the evening and bags a bonus point.
0-0 An empty raid from Monu Goyat.

7:28pm: The players are out on the mat and we're minutes away from action!
7:25pm: We will see two of the most expensive players in PKL's history today! Monu Goyat was picked up by Haryana Steelers for 1.51 core (a then league-high figure) back in 2018, while Pardeep was acquired by UP Yoddha for a staggering 1.65 crore this year. Who do you think will come out on top today?

7:10pm: In case you're new to the Pro Kabaddi caravan, here is a brief look at the rules of the tournament:
7pm: Let's talk about Mr. Pardeep Narwal, better known as the Dubki King . The 24-year-old was signed by UP Yoddha for a phenomenal 1.65 crore to become the most expensive player in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League.
“ Main bolta bohot kam hoon (I don’t speak much),” he says in a chat with Sportstar . He's one of those players who let their game do the talking.
Having won three titles with Patna Pirates, he is eager to taste similar success with his new side. “We have a very balanced team with plenty of youngsters. The onus will be on me to steer the team as a seasoned player, but I have full faith in the team. We don’t have a trophy yet and I would like to change that this season,” he adds.
6:50pm: When it comes to head-to-head stats, Patna Pirates has a slight edge as it has won four of the eight games between the two sides. UP Yoddha, which lost its opening game to defending champion Bengal Warriors, has a steep challenge ahead.
6:40pm : Merry Christmas, folks! We're back for the final triple-header of the week and we kick things off with a mouth-watering clash between three-time champion Patna Pirates and UP Yoddha. The bigger plot here is the fact that Pardeep Narwal, who was indispensable in Patna Pirates' hat-trick of titles, will face his former team for the first time today. All eyes will be on Pardeep as well as Monu Goyat, who has made a strong comeback to the mat and scored 15 points in the opening game.

Hey folks, welcome to another day of Pro Kabaddi League action! It's day 3 of action in Bengaluru and we've seen all the 12 teams in the league take to the mat at least once. Before we introduce you to the fixtures of the day, here's a look at the results from day 1 and 2.
